Spent 3 nights here as a family of 3 and found it to be a comfortable and practical base for exploring Canberra. Enjoyed its good location within walking distance to shopping and dining at Canberra Centre. An on-site basement car park is available at an AUD 35 per day rate. We were greeted by a bright atrium-style lobby during check-in and waiting. The room was spacious and well laid out, with two comfortable beds. Had an enjoyable view from the room, especially during sunset. The buffet breakfast was satisfying, with a good spread that covered the essentials well for our stay. In-room dining was a good, convenient option after a long day out on our last day, when we returned early to pack. Overall, a reliable choice in Canberra, especially for families or those driving, as long as you’re comfortable with slightly older interiors and a more standard (rather than premium) dining experience.

“Great location and fantastic customer service”

The hotels in the middle of the city center and within walking distance of many restaurants and shopping. It's also quick 10 minute journey to/from the airport. The hotels in the middle of the city center and within walking distance of many restaurants and shopping. It's also quick 10 minute journey to/from the airport. All staff interactions were friendly and helpful. The room was well appointed and had all the necessities for a comfortable staff. Breakfast offering was great and food quality was on par for a Crowne Plaza. The only cons were the bathroom, it was dated and the shower was in the bathtub, and housekeeping could have done a better job on cleaning including replenishment of the coffee

Very nice stay at Crowne plaza Canberra. The hotel is very well located, right near the shops and restaurant. Beds are very comfortable. The gym is great. Very nice stay at Crowne plaza Canberra. The hotel is very well located, right near the shops and restaurant. Beds are very comfortable. The gym is great. The breakfast was great and the staff members very lovely and caring. Special mention to the gentleman in his 50-60’s who is probably the breakfast manager. He managed to talk to kitchen to have more croissant for our son and made sure our table was cleared when plate were empty. Coming from hotel background I can say those details made your stay enjoyable and memorable. Thank you!

“Manager refused late check out for IHG member”

I had very good service from the gentleman checking me in, but my one request was denied. In the past I have been able to stay on later if I checked in late. The manager refused, even though I am an IHG member.

We choose this hotel only because of Location and service of staff. We regularly stay at this property and can only assume that hotel keep’s going backwards and the fact that IHG is in dire need of A General Manager to actually move this property in the right direction. Check in experience was ok but would have loved the agent to offer an upgrade with a fee as was prepared to pay for something better but not even tried. Room was ok but in need of refurbishment, bathroom accessories very cheap and can I say the linen absolutely shocking. Heating in room was not working so they had to bring a heater up. (Staff said this is ongoing issue) So why hasn’t it been fixed.?? Towels very old very small not plush and not what you expect from a Crown Plaza. Tissues and toilet rolls I guess you have changed companies because they were the quality of an airplane not hotel. Dining experience menu is very limited not enough choices. Menu is very confusing and not appealing. There is no oomfs in it. You can do better for the choices as we are willing to pay for quality and choice. Coffee sorry but absolutely disgusting and being told we have to wait 45mins on Sunday morning for a coffee in the restaurant is not good enough period. Where are the management??? Staff are nice but was super overwhelmed. Just felt like getting up and assisting them. Again Management no where to be found. Overall I don’t like to criticise but staying at this property regularly I need to say that there needs to be a different approach on focusing on experience then profit. You can do better with right management.
