“Convenient location but the bathroom is unworkable”

Arrived today for a function tonight. The bed is fine but the bathroom is totally unworkable. As someone who wears makeup and needs to do my hair for a special night out, there's nowhere that you are able to put makeup on with good lighting. We ended up using a torch but that was still far from satisfactory. unbelievable really and very frustrating..I would not recommend this place as a result

This hotel would rate higher if it could reliably offer secure underground car parking to guests. The hotel itself is of acceptable standard, being a Novotel and part of the global Accor chain, and the staff are uniformly friendly and helpful. We arrived with our car on a Monday night, at 5pm, it was cold and drizzling, nearby roadworks (lanes closed, unhelpful roadworks employees) causing havoc on Northbourne Avenue. Reception was dealing with several tour bus groups which had just arrived, the rest of us parked outside the hotel in a 15 min loading bay, whilst one of us waiting at Reception to check in and obtain a PIN/QR code for the limited number of underground car spaces. The real issue is car park management. Reception checked us in, provided room keys and advised us to drive around the corner to the rear of the hotel to see if the car park was full or had available spaces. If full (a helpful sign at the car park entry was illuminated in red), to return to Reception and receive a printed PIN and QR Code for the Secure Parking car park 550m away. With best intentions, we suggest that Reception install a CCTV on the car park entry, to view if the red FULL sign is lit, thus saving their guests making two trips to Reception. The underground car park was $35per night (if you were fortunate to get of the 50 car spaces. The Secure Parking City West car park was, at time of stay, $29per night, and a multiple storey above ground building but a long walk from the hotel especially for small children and disabled guests. Aside from car park issues, we enjoyed the bar and First Edition restaurant for dinner and breakfast the next day.

Nice enough hotel but it's in desperate need of a reservation. Check-in was nice and quick with staff being friendly. The room was clean and comfortable but very dated. Nice enough hotel but it's in desperate need of a reservation. Check-in was nice and quick with staff being friendly. The room was clean and comfortable but very dated. One of the biggest let downs was the tv does not allow casting or have any apps to login to. It might be a generational thing but I don't watch free to air tv so it was disappointing. Most hotels are clean and comfortable so I specifically look for hotels with a more useful TV.
