“Great hotel experience”

We staid at the Sheraton for four nights while visiting Sydney. The hotel is close to Hyde Park, St James station and plenty of shopping. Our room, the Grand Executives room was very nice and it is always nice to be at the same floor as the executive lounge. Our room was on the city side, please note there is a construction going on, on the opposite side of the hotel, however it didn’t disturb us during our stay. The executive lounge was phenomenal. Great breakfast in the morning. For the cocktail hour, it is super busy at 5PM, to the point that they run out of tables occasionally. I guess this is a great testament on how good their lounge really is. Thank you to the Sydney Sheraton for a memorable stay

“Great”

Had a great stay for 2 nights prior to a cruise. Fantastic location, we loved our daily roundtrip walks through the gardens to Circular Quay. Bedroom was roomy, we loved the evenings in the club room, check in staff were so helpful.

“Weak soundproofing”

I had a one-night stay at the Sheraton Grand Hyde Park. A great location and the executive lounge is very beautiful. I got upgraded to a Grand Executive park view room as part of my rate. However, don’t expect like a full view of the park (like how they advertised on the website). The room that I was assigned to only had 1/4 of the park view. Also, the front desk and the Gallery were understaffed. The front desk was completely overwhelmed when I was on my way to breakfast. It took the staff quite a bit of time for me to be seated at the Gallery and it was relatively hard to get someone to help me with finalising the bill. I was trying to have a nap in the afternoon but I kept being woken up by the noises from the street and the corridor. The soundproofing of my room was very very very weak (like I haven’t stayed in a hotel room with such a weak soundproofing). Not only I could clearly hear the conversation that other guests were having, but the bed head and the hangers in the WIR were literally vibrating whenever someone from another room closed their doors. The services, in general, were a bit “cold” as well (except for the housekeeping staff and the breakfast team). I was going to rate it a 2/5 but soon after I submitted these feedbacks in the survey from the wifi connection portal, I received a call from Alex to discuss about the issues. He assisted me to switch to another room and it definitely made my stay a lot better. The next morning, I was also approached by Max and he was very apologetic about my experience at the Gallery. On a side note, the breakfast team did a fantastic job and everyone was very kind and friendly. I was expecting it to be disastrous due to my experience at the Gallery but I was so wrong. Also, the in-room dining was fantastic. I ordered a pork belly for dinner and it was very very delicious. The in-room dining was at least 10-20x better than W Sydney - more options and much better food! I might give it another go the next time I visit Sydney if they can do something about the weak soundproofing of the room.
