“Worth the wait!”

We had waited 3 years to stay here and we are so pleased to have done so. We stayed in the Workers Cottage and appreciated the comfortable beds, cosy lounge and well equipped kitchen. The arrival/welcome touched were also appreciated. Great location for exploring the blue mountains. Thanks Jo!

“Very pretty”

My 2 daughters and I stayed in the milking shed. We loved the quirky building and furnishings. The beds were very comfortable. The shower was good and we enjoyed the toiletries that were left for us to use during our stay. The beds were comfy. We used the hot tub and enjoyed that also. Very conveni… more

My 2 daughters and I stayed in the milking shed. We loved the quirky building and furnishings. The beds were very comfortable. The shower was good and we enjoyed the toiletries that were left for us to use during our stay. The beds were comfy. We used the hot tub and enjoyed that also. Very convenient to Leura, just a short walk. My only complaint was there is no storage area for food, there just being one bench in the kitchen. There is nowhere for anyone sleeping in the beds downstairs to put their bags. And there isn’t a lot of shelf space in the bathroom. Other than that it was a nice stay.

On its website it states: Old Leura Dairy...is leading the way in Australia’s luxury, boutique, eco accommodation; offering a unique and exclusive travel experience in the beautiful World Heritage Blue Mountains". At some point however we don't agree. We stayed at The Studio, well equipped, though rather small, and a bit primitive in terms of doing the dishes. The Studio can only be reached via a very steep and not too wide and winding gravel path, and that requires quite a bit of steering skills when driving a large SUV..... Furthermore, on arrival, during the days of our stay, as well as on departure, we did not see or hear anyone from the reception, despite the general information stating that the reception is usually open Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Been to the reception three times, three times no one was there and the reception was closed. We regret to say that this does not strike us as very hospitable. But, the location itself was beautiful! The Blue Mountains, however, are a stunning, very beautiful area, and most certainly worth a visit.

Stayed in Buttercup Barn. Rustic, cosy, particularly with curtains closed. Useful kitchen area with microwave and gas barbecue outside. Stayed in Buttercup Barn. Rustic, cosy, particularly with curtains closed. Useful kitchen area with microwave and gas barbecue outside. Table, chairs , comfortable settee, easy chair and bath/shower downstairs. Comfy large bed upstairs. Toilet downstairs. Everything clean and spotless with massive book of rules and information. TV worked fine. Didn’t use the hot tub but met the maintenance man checking chemicals. Apparently 95% of building is recycled, it seems to be well insulated apart from big gap under front doors. No evidence that the gas heater was serviced regularly and with heater and wood burner in shared living and sleeping area this is a serious risk, particularly with no carbon monoxide alarm. We didn’t use them and used the blankets in the cupboard to keep warm. We were already tired from the journey but both got headaches soon after we switched the gas heater on which went off once we switched it off. Had to park on road as bottom of drive nearly took front of car off. Didn’t see the owners. Had a nice kangaroo kebab on the barbecue.
