“Brilliant place - BIG, Ball Room, Fountain Courtyard Garden Dining, Kitchen and great rooms”
YHA Katoomba is a gem, it’s massive. It has a huge ballroom that doubles as a movie theatre in the evenings and a seperate large dining room, There’s a beautiful courtyard with a fountain with Koi fish swimming around, a lovely garden with outdoor seating, and spacious rooms. “Somewhat run-down”
Its a fine line between 'cosy' and 'run down' and this place sadly felt more the latter. The rooms were basic if not a bit damp/musty. This hostel has great communal spaces, with spacious common areas perfect for relaxing and meeting other travelers. The kitchen is well-equipped and roomy, making it easy to cook your own meals.
