Arrived at this hotel for a 6 night stay following a far east cruise. We chose this hotel for its location and it was bang on ! Central to Bondi and an easy walk across the road to the beach . Adjacent to the hotel was everything you could ask for ! Lovely eating establishments Big Woolworths just left out of the hotel so we could get everything we needed for our stay . We had done our research on this hotel before booking it . We opted for the best room which was the Superior suite with a Kitchen, everything you needed cutlery plates etc , washing liquid, tea towels, No hot plates, but microwave and toaster and kettle, fridge with small freezer compartment etc , lounge, TV ,dining table with chairs, separate bedroom, dressing area with loads of wardrobes shelves etc, free safe, iron and ironing board , and a lovely modern shower room . We were on the top floor and had a huge balcony with 2 sunbeds and 2 comfy chairs overlooking the beach ! We were aware there may be noise on the DJ nights but the bedroom was at the side of the suite so with the bedroom door shut the music was not that loud ! And anyway why go to Bondi and complain about the noise ............they have runs every Sunday morning to House Music and there are hundreds of fit healthy people running down the beach front pavements keeping fit to music.!! Fun to watch if a lot different to the UK !!! When you arrive be aware there is no lounge or seating area other than the bar / restaurant attached to the hotel so nowhere you can get a coffee or breakfast unless you go out of the hotel. There are just 2 armchairs and a small reception desk. Toilets are also in the bar. Our room was immaculately clean and we could not complain we were very happy. The reception held onto our luggage until we could check in so went to McDonalds 5 minutes walk and grabbed some coffees. We catered for ourselves through the day then at night used the bar Happy Hour which was a No Brainer. If you ordered their local beer in a Jug it held 3 pints and was 12 $ . The wine was also on offer 7 pm till 10 pm so very reasonable. The food ..............well we ate there every night It was delicious !!! Very reasonable and beautifully cooked . The restaurant and bar do get packed so get here early to get a seat. We chose Bondi as its an Iconic place in Australia and at 67 years old my husband wanted to chill on a beach we had only ever seen on the TV. It didn't disappoint but the Rip Tide on our first day there nearly took the lives of 2 young Asians who required the Lifeguards to Rescue them and Resus the girl after getting into difficulty outside of the flags . A clear warning to follow the clear instructions on the beach regarding swimming only between the flags. We walked up to the Ice Pools and the budgie smuggler shop ! Loads of old art deco buildings if you look up ! A people watching resort I've never experienced so many people wearing so little and no shoes. Its obviously a beach body beautiful resort ! we walked up to the famous coffee shop on the north beach Tiny Speedo Cafe where the service was fab and prices really cheap ! There is also a war memorial just before it . Access to the safe sea water swimming pool here as well. Bondi Pavilion worth a visit - art gallery , shops and restaurant . Flea market on the Sunday morning up towards the north part of the beach on the left. Loads of drinking water / cold water fountains everywhere free of charge to use, We didn't appreciate just how cheap Bondi was until we transferred to Sofitel after 6 days .............Wow Darling Harbour Everything was at least treble the price !!! Go with the attitude its Bondi ................. Go to the beach , stay safe in the sea and chill . Take earplugs if you don't like music but we enjoyed 4 very quiet nights before the weekend party atmosphere...... after 3 jugs beer ...............slept right through it anyway !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just a warning the Sulphur Crested Parakeets are noisier than the music and they screech all day from early morning till late at night ! Go and have a Fabulous time !!!
