I’ve truly lost count of how many times I’ve stayed at Pullman Sydney Airport over the years, which probably says more than any star rating ever could. If I didn’t enjoy staying here, I simply wouldn’t keep coming back. The hotel has plenty going for it. The location is great, an easy walk from Domestic Terminal, & the rooms are spacious, modern & comfortable, making it an ideal base whether I’m transiting through Sydney or spending a few days in the city. More importantly, the people continue to be Pullman’s greatest asset. Every visit reminds me that genuine hospitality isn’t about fancy chandeliers or marble lobbies, it’s about the people who make guests feel welcome. The front line team consistently does exactly that, & I’ve always felt well looked after. Now…let’s talk about the Executive Lounge. It remains one of the most unique Executive Lounges I’ve encountered anywhere. It’s so quiet that, after a while, you start wondering whether you’ve accidentally been promoted to General Manager & inherited the place. It’s essentially a boardroom that moonlights as an Executive Lounge, completely unattended, with guests helping themselves to soft drinks, the coffee machine, & a basic selection of snacks. Unfortunately, once the popcorn or nuts disappear, they often seem to have entered witness protection because they rarely reappear. Evening canapés are served in a reserved section of Möbius Grill between 5pm & 6:30pm. My advice? Arrive early, VERY early. While the selection is adequate, replenishment appears to operate on an endangered-species program. By around 5:45pm, many items have already vanished, & by 6:00pm the kitchen seems to have quietly declared,: “That’s all, folks!” This isn’t a new observation. My feedback has appeared on TripAdvisor for quite some time. Mgmt has always responded professionally & acknowledged the comments, but unfortunately the experience itself hasn’t noticeably changed. Hopefully one day the replenishment strategy will become as consistent as the mgmt responses! Breakfast tells a similar story. One of the excellent Platinum benefits at Pullman is the complimentary à la carte breakfast, yet it still isn’t consistently offered. On this visit, as with previous stays, I was once again directed towards the buffet without being informed that I could order from the menu. Having stayed here many times, I knew to ask! Had I been a first-time Platinum guest, I would never have known the option even existed! The buffet itself remains serviceable but fairly ordinary. The à la carte menu, on the other hand, offers several appealing dishes. Unfortunately, I’d suggest giving the Waffle & French Toast a miss. They certainly look the part, but appearances can be wonderfully deceptive! Mine arrived dry, firm & lacking the freshness you’d expect from a 5star hotel. It genuinely left me wondering whether they bought them pre-packed & had simply been reheated rather than freshly prepared. Only the chefs would know! I suggest the mgmt team should occasionally go undercover, order breakfast as an ordinary guest & experience these dishes firsthand! Sometimes the quickest way to understand guest feedback is to sit on the other side of the table, don’t you think? Fortunately, Pullman’s greatest strength continues to outweigh its shortcomings - the staff. Many of the restaurant team are students, & it’s always a pleasure chatting with them. A special mention goes to Jutara (hope I’ve recalled her name correctly), who has looked after me on several occasions. She remembers returning guests, checks in without being intrusive, & notices the little things. When she saw I’d brought a bowl of muesli back to my table, she quietly appeared moments later with a spoon before I even realised I needed one. Those small gestures are what genuine hospitality looks like, & she is an absolute credit to the hotel. The reception team deserves equal praise. Every interaction has been warm, friendly & professional, & they consistently make returning guests feel welcomed. Overall, Pullman Sydney Airport remains one of my preferred airport hotels in Sydney. The location is great, the rooms are comfortable, & the people continue to deliver the kind of hospitality that keeps me coming back. The frustrating part is that the hotel is so close to being exceptional. With more consistent execution in the Executive Lounge, proper replenishment during evening canapés, & better communication of Platinum breakfast benefits, Pullman Sydney Airport could easily become the benchmark for Sydney airport hotels. Until then, I’ll happily keep returning, not because everything is perfect, but because the wonderful people working here make me believe one day it just might be.

This is one of my favourite Sydney 'staycation' hotels always in an Executive Room (canapes and buffet breakfast are hard to beat) and the staff are always one of the highlights. On this occasion it was the fifth consecutive year I've celebrated my birthday and the card & balloons made it a bit extra special together with the 'happy birthday' on arrival. The rooms are large and light with all the amenities you need. Large screen TVs with Foxtel channels always provides something to watch. Canapes on the Thursday night were great, including the mini shepherds pies, and breakfast is always good, especially with Matt always having a chat and a smile on his face. It's only 10-15 minutes by train from the city and a 5-minute walk from Mascot station so well worth people who normally stay in the city to get better value for money here.

The hotel is close to the airport and within easy walking distance to Mascot station where numerous shops and restaurants can be found. The hotel hosted an executive lounge which is quite empty except on two of the days when it was closed for private functions. The breakfast and cocktail hours are fine though the choice is limited. Check in and check out are efficient though housekeeping is a bit slow. The TV has numerous movies for selection with casting as well.
