I stayed here for six nights during a business trip, my first visit to Australia! The location of the hotel couldn’t be better — steps away from the opera house, bridge, shopping, restaurants and ferries to such locations as the Taronga Zoo. The bed was also comfortable, and there are two chairs next to the bed that are comfortable too. I’d totally stay here again.

“Lovely Birthday Treat”

We arrived from the US very early on my husband’s birthday. Anna was so kind getting us an upgraded room that was ready and sending up a special treat to celebrate his birthday. She also included a sweet message and birthday greeting. Anna went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. The rooms and property were fantastic as well and the location is phenomenal.

“Super location to get around Sydney, friendly helpful staff, view of the Opera House and river are worth the upgrade!”

We chose the Marriott primarily for its central location and it was perfect. Ferry’s, Public Transport, Taxi’s including Uber are all close by and reasonably priced! We chose the Marriott primarily for its central location and it was perfect. Ferry’s, Public Transport, Taxi’s including Uber are all close by and reasonably priced! Room was spacious and comfortable with fantastic views from the 27th floor. Breakfast was well prepared with plenty of choice although because it was Vivid weekend was very busy at peak times.

The initial appearance and lobby here is impressive but unfortunately the rooms do not match the standards of the rest of the hotel. Reception staff were welcoming and friendly although ever so slightly robotic and reading from a well learned script. This is more about treating everyone the same and without individual personality or preferences. Great location, 30 min Uber from the airport and close enough to walk to many of the main sights. However, this hotel is let down by its dated rooms. These are very dated and don’t match the same quality as the rest of the hotel. They feel old, tired and in need of modernisation. They’re disappointing and lack character and charm. Breakfast also lets the hotel down. Served in the middle of the lobby bar in a square shape which is poorly designed and difficult to navigate when full with guests. Far too many guests for this layout and the food on offer did not match standard Marriott quality. I stayed in the Marriott Adelaide a few days before this one and that’s leagues above this hotel in pretty much every way. Disappointing stay but I am loyal to the Marriott brand.
