Nice and spacious apartments. Very relaxing vibe. Great pool and yummy food at the onsite restaurant (room service was a fantastic option with a little one).

We’ve stayed at Angourie Resort five times over the past eight years. We chose it again this year to celebrate a significant family birthday, trusting it would deliver the same standard we’d experienced before. Unfortunately, this visit fell well short, particularly at close to $400 per night. We still love Yamba. The pool area remains a highlight and the refurbished cabins are nice. Reception staff were consistently friendly, professional, and helpful. The issues were not with frontline staff, they were with the overall standard and lack of improvement over time. Wi-Fi remains unresolved despite us raising it eight years ago. While manageable for a short stay, it’s very frustrating on a longer visit with four children. Coverage works around the pool and lobby, so the infrastructure clearly exists. At checkout we were told it would be fixed “in the new year” the same message we received years ago. Hearing that it’s coming without seeing change does not inspire confidence. Bikes were previously available for all ages and were a highlight given the distance into town. They’ve now been replaced with electric bikes restricted to over-16s. For a family-focused resort, this feels like a step backwards. The gym has not improved in eight years and actually has less equipment than before. A small investment would make a noticeable difference. Pool hours now close at 7pm, and on two evenings staff began closing at 6:30pm due to shortages. Early closures during peak summer are hard to justify at this price point. We stayed six nights and our apartment was not serviced once. After raising this, we were told it would be done the next day. When we returned, only towels had been left on the table the room, beds, and bathrooms had not been cleaned. That’s not servicing, particularly at a premium rate. The kids’ games area was also closed for refurbishment and appeared dismantled, with no clear reopening timeline. We raised all of these concerns before leaving and were assured management would be in contact. We also completed the emailed survey the following week. We are still waiting to hear from anyone. Overall, while we value the location and some aspects of the resort, we expected either meaningful improvement over time or at least the same standard as previous visits. Sadly, this stay did not justify the cost and no longer appeals to us for longer stays.
