Well located near beach, shops and restaurants. Staff were unfailingly cordial and helpful. Breakfast buffet was decent. However facilities especially the cramped bathrooms needs a do over. Shower curtains aren't long enough to prevent wet floors. No body lotion provided, Elevators are slow, prompting a posted apology by management.

I will start with the positives: - the staff were lovely. Very friendly and accommodating and went out of their way to help. Not an Aussie in sight btw … 🙄 - the place is clean or as clean as the poor staff can work with - see below. Negatives: - place is tired - needs a renovation urgently. It’s still in the 1980’s - no joke!!! - the whole hotel is FREEZING!! It’s summer and 30 degrees out and even with the a/c off - it’s cold. Don’t know why? - Beds and in fact, all furniture is SO uncomfortable. - the phones in the rooms don’t work or don’t have correct instructions on how to dial reception, because the instructions ON the phone don’t work. I had to call on my mobile and if they are on another call - it goes to MessageBank!!! - the bathrooms are absolutely awful. They are old and tired and SERIOUSLY in need of a reno. - Towels are thin and harsh. All in all I will NEVER return here. I have never been so uncomfortable in my life. In fact I’m returning next week for business and changed my hotel to elsewhere. Last but not least, with the layout of the hotel, the rooms are in a square with the restaurant/bar below, so sound travels. Parents with loud kids and zero discipline let their brats run wild Sunday afternoon, meaning anyone trying to relax could not. The screaming went on for hours, echoed right around the hotel, and despite multiple complaints, the staff could not or would not kick the parents out (they were locals, not guests). This in itself put me off. Someone should have managed this.

This hotel needs some serious renovations. We booked this room for a staycation during NYE for the family. This hotel needs some serious renovations. We booked this room for a staycation during NYE for the family. Not sure if it’s because we booked it under the “Local NY price” so they gave us the worst room or all rooms are horrible. Breakfast is also not that great with their options, even so the kitchen struggled to keep up topping up when there’s only 6 things food to top up. the room have that distinct smell I couldn’t explain, it’s like a mixture of musky damp room + sea salt water. The staff members are all wonderful, helpful, & kind. I just really hope Novotel will do some sprucing with their building, because with the amount of money we paid for the rooms, we’d rather just stayed at a motel. For reference, we paid $600++ for 2br , for 2 nights. We did ask the staff member if they can move us for a different room, but they’ll charge us $60 on top of that, we don’t want to risk getting the same conditioned room & pay more. Would not stay here ever.
