“Great Apartment”

Great apartment and great location. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the apartments to others looking to stay close, but not right in, the city.

If you are in Darwin and looking for a reasonable, clean, serviced apartment at an attractive price, then this is a good candidate. Its probably a good three star hotel, perhaps a little tired in places, but the rooms are spacious, although those tiles make it cold on the feet and give off a utilitarian feel. The bathroom looks like it has been refurbished more recently and is smart with excellent shower pressure. The mattress on the bed needs attention, it is so warn that it is almost v shaped, throwing the occupants perhaps a little closer together in the night than they would like. The real giveaway that about the tiredness overall is the television, which apart from only having a single HDMI, gives off a red glow around the edges, indicating that it has certainly seen better days and must be at least 15 year old. However, there are quite a few positives, not least having breakfast included if you book directly and it was worth having. It was also a lovely touch to offer a welcome drink and fruit from the chiller – whilst the bar on the 16th floor provides not only an excellent viewing point but very substantial canapes that might just tempt you to stay much longer, as we did! This is a three star facility with lots of plus points.

Reception staff & cleaners 10/10 all friendly & accommodating. I probably stayed too long here in hindsight but I chose ‘apartment style’ stay which was different to what i’d been used to on my global travel adventure to date. Thought rooftop was very ‘overrated’ as mainly groups up there I see that’s ok but views are concrete jungle & industry in reality & ‘sunset’ disappears behind another building but each for your own. Pool 10/10 enjoyed my dips. I had 2 morning breakfasts but was disappointed with the quality of the ‘Big Zen hot brecky’ (toast decent) could tell microwaved most of it however & not fresh. Then ‘hot cakes with icecream’ basic thought fruit could be added rather than random spinich tomato. General vibe wandering around hotel uncomfortable in relation to long warm corridors & lifts not your typical hotel environment that I know of. I used this place to recharge my batteries so most time spent pool fitness room in summary. I’d definitely say the pool & the people make this place from a ‘solo traveller’ perspective.
