This place is a real discovery. We had Appt 71 on 23rd floor, which was excellent - beautifully decorated and well equipped with all necessary amenities. The view from the south-facing duel-aspect balconies was breathtaking. The bed was extra king size (didn’t use the second twin bedroom which overlooked a wonderful sea-view. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming and helpful at every turn. We would definitely return.

“Perfect location, stunning views but somewhat miserable service”

This building is in a perfect location. It is well off the noisy and busy highway, a 1 minute walk to the beach, and 5 minutes walk to lots of shops and cafes. The views are simply stunning. This building is in a perfect location. It is well off the noisy and busy highway, a 1 minute walk to the beach, and 5 minutes walk to lots of shops and cafes. The views are simply stunning. There is a nice pool and spa to use as well. The sauna is located in the basement in a tired toilet block so not appealing. It advertises itself as 4 star but it is really only of 3 star quality. We had a 2 bedroom apartment and it was very spacious and great views from both bedrooms, living room and kitchen and a large balcony. This could be the perfect place to stay if the property was better maintained and there was better customer service. Upon arrival, we were greeted with an overwhelming smell of cheap, sickly cleaning spray. The apartment we were in had been partially renovated. This is always a possible problem with this typical QLD building set-up with individual owners so it is pot luck as a guest what you get. There was a brand new vanity but the shower was old, with some broken tiles and filthy grout and caulk and a rusty ceiling above. There was other rusty furniture in amongst other newer and nice furniture. No cleaning is provided unless you have a long stay and this is not an issue fore me. The resident building managers have several rules and restrictions which give the air of a volunteer Body Corporate President who has had enough, rather than filling a paid professional role. Staying at a beachside apartment and one with a pool too, it would only seem reasonable to expect beach towels to be provided. But no, when we asked, we were informed that this was ceased, because some previous guests had apparently stolen them. (Only one bath towel per guest is provided so you can’t improvise). As one pays a $500 deposit bond on check-in, it is mystifying that they can’t just provide towels to all the honest guests and deduct the cost of stolen towels from the bond. The deadlocks on the doors have been disabled so there is only a flimsy snib lock to use. Just one small soap bar was provided and no handwash. A Nespresso machine was provided, but naturally no coffee pods. The day before checkout, comms were sent to advise that all rubbish bins needed to be emptied and the rubbish placed in the basement rubbish area. When you are paying over $400 per night, it just seems miserable service that you can’t be given a beach towel and a few coffee pods, and the cleaner could empty the bin after you check-out.
