We stayed here as a family of six, and the apartment was genuinely stunning. The views were spectacular, and the plunge pool became the centrepiece of our evenings. As the week wound down, we found ourselves spending more and more time at the apartment rather than venturing out. It was also a rare and welcome surprise: the first time a property has actually lived up to, and even exceeded, its website photos. If I’m being truly critical, the buffet breakfast didn’t match the standard set by the room. It wasn’t poor, but the gap was noticeable. We used it as a rough gauge for Whispers Restaurant and, fairly or not, decided not to return for other meals. Coffee was excellent one morning and disappointing the next, inconsistent enough that we gave up ordering it. As it turned out, the pod machine in the apartment did a better job. Overall though, the experience was outstanding. We’d return without hesitation if we find ourselves back in Airlie Beach.

We’ve just returned from a week in the Whitsundays and spent 3 nights at Mirage Whitsundays with our 7-year-old son. This was our first time staying in apartment-style accommodation (we usually stay in hotels and resorts) and we were honestly blown away. The apartment itself was incredibly spacious, bigger than our own apartment in Sydney. We absolutely loved it. Everything felt open, airy and comfortable, and despite the size, the entire place was immaculate. You could tell real care goes into housekeeping. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, which made it so easy to relax and feel at home. Having a washer and dryer in the apartment, with laundry liquid sachets provided, was also incredibly convenient and such a thoughtful touch when travelling with a child. The lounge area deserves a special mention. It was huge, with a big comfortable couch and a large TV with all the streaming services available. It made our evenings so easy and relaxing after long days out exploring and swimming. Breakfast each morning was simple but great. It’s a smaller breakfast area and breakfast is included, so we weren’t expecting anything extravagant, but it was more than enough. A proper cooked breakfast with eggs, bacon, toast, roasted tomatoes, mushrooms and pancakes. We loved starting each day slowly, sitting out in the sun on the patio with beautiful views over the Coral Coast. It felt very calm and unhurried. The pool area was another highlight. We swam for hours every day and both times we visited we had a cabana to ourselves, which made it feel even more relaxing. Cocktails from the bar were also excellent and perfect for a holiday afternoon. What really stood out, though, was the service. Every single staff member we encountered was warm, friendly and genuinely seemed happy to be there. Lots of smiles, helpful attitudes and a very relaxed, welcoming energy throughout the property. This stay truly exceeded our expectations. If you’re looking for spacious, clean, comfortable accommodation in the Whitsundays that feels like a home away from home, Mirage Whitsundays is a fantastic choice. We would absolutely stay again.
