I’ve meant to write this for a bit, but better late than never. I stayed 3 nights in April at the Pink Hotel and if you stay anywhere else in Coolangatta, you have no idea what you are missing. The room was fabulous, well-appointed with a really comfy bed and fun decor. It was a perfect location walkable to everything in the area. Samara was amazing. She helped me with my luggage, called a cab for me when I sadly had to depart and was very welcoming and helpful. The rooftop is a fun space and the beach is literally steps away. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

I had a brilliant idea to travel down to Coolangatta, by public transport, 50 cent unlimited travel, at the moment, due to an election year, I am told by the locals. By doing this I planned to be near the airport for my 6am flight. This was why I booked a room, at the Pink Hotel. My bus took me to within 50meters of the Pink Hotel. Which made finding it easy, as was the beach, which was with coo wee. A very different type of beach to surfers (long and deep). The receptionist was quick smart at settling me in and organizing an early morning taxi for me. I would call this hotel, kitsch, as it has a theme and decor to match, the album sleaves in the reception, and the catchy phrase in each room, a bit of a giveaway. Pink is what pink means. The hotel has concrete floors, with rugs placed on them. This must, at times, create noise of some level, as the metal staircase might. I only thought of this, when I noticed air plugs discreetly placed in my room. As I found the place rather quiet. I did not make use of the mini bar, but rather topped it up with three beers, when I left early next morning.

Beautiful location with really funky cool rooms. Staff were lovely. Aircon was positioned in a weird spot and there was no ceiling fan so it was really hot at night in November. Beautiful location with really funky cool rooms. Staff were lovely. Aircon was positioned in a weird spot and there was no ceiling fan so it was really hot at night in November. There’s no designated parking for the hotel. There are a few parks directly outside if you’re lucky to get one but that was probably the one thing that would stop me booking there again. The location itself was great being able to walk across the road to the beach and with all the restaurants right there. It was a bit loud late at night with the bar below.

“Check where your room is before booking!”

We fell for the online images and booked a room as part of a road trip. Unfortunately we were given a room at the back of the hotel which was dark and dingy. We should have complained but being “nice polite poms” kept quiet and suffered. You live and learn.
