We needed a relaxing break, so where better. We chose this hotel because of a personal recommendation. We stayed in Unit 5 which is on the second floor (there was even a lift) and it faces the sea, this was important to us, because it means the afternoon sun does not make the room uncomfortable. The apartment is only a stones throw from the beach and a very short stroll to all the best restaurants. I have read some other reviews of Tranquility which are less than flattering. We stayed there from the 8th to 12th of February and found the unit to be very clean and quiet. The air conditioner did rattle a bit, but this was fixed as soon as we pointed it out. We decided to take the obligatory trip to the barrier Reef and the management recommended a fantastic operator, the reefs we visited were full of colour and so so many fish. All-in-all a very peaceful and relaxing break, just what we needed.

Almost everything about the place was good, however the one really bad thing was like a dark cloud ruining a good holiday. We stayed in the 2bed apartment which had 3 sleeper couches in the living room. They were so uncomfortable to sit on that we actually had to bring chairs in from the patio to sit on. And no we are not pensioners who cant handle low seating we just wanted to relax as a family and perhaps watch a movie together. I proceeded to put the couch down to see if it would be more comfy as a futon. I was disgusted to find all food debris along the seam, once opened so clearly hadn't been cleaned for quite some time . Overall the entertainment options and facilities were excellent, just needs the comfort to complete it. When we booked we weren't told that there was no allocated parking space for our unit no. 7. On arrival we were told no sorry there are 3 spots, first come first serve. They were all taken, so we had to park out in the street. A bit strange considering there was a garage under cover with no.7 on it. Overall the place has so much potential. For the sake of spending $200 on a used sofa that a family could actually relax on would be a tiny investment for a very big return...comfort, it's why we go on holiday, to relax. Also cleaners turning up 10min before check out time is quite annoying, just turn up after check out please I mean we were still gathering our rubbish that we were asked to dispose of before leaving. My advice to the owner/manager replace at least one couch with something you can relax on, also audit cleaners who missed a few things, wrappers under beds and food debris on couches. Those combined with an allocated car park, you would be able to charge more and still get return business and excellent reviews

If you are looking at photos of an ultra modern decor on a booking website it is NOT this apartment (no 5 2nd floor) - that is Tranquility Relax. No WiFi. Limited onsite parking. The apartment is in an excellent location, a minute from the beach and cafes. It is in need of refurbishment. It was comfortable enough and could easily accommodate parents and 2 kids. The toilet is in the bathroom which required some negotiation first thing in the morning. All the appliances we used worked fine and the TV was a large flat screen. Most of the lights were dull. The blinds were made of matting which let the light in ie not conducive for sleeping in. Linen, towels, toiletries were fine. The apartment block has a lift. At the price we paid, prefer others.
