“Wonderful”

Thank you for a great 8 nights - not too far from the theme parks and necessities. It was quiet with great water views and we appericated the free underground parking.It was a lovely place to spend time with the family and loved that we had our own privacy the whole time there.

I researched Crystal Bay Resort and it ticked all boxes what i needed for a short 5 night stay on marine parade Labrador The office staff, Christy, Prue, answered all my queries specially Secure U/ cover parking i booked 5 weeks early knowing V8s were in town. We arrived sat arvo after office hours, we followed the pre instructions re entry /Keys /Safe. all went smoothly. .......................................................................................................................................... Basement CCTV parking was a breeze, Large Green logo for holiday makers, Red for Residents ( Simple) there is trolley for luggage we entered aptm 6fl i nice well setup self/ con, aptm, everything worked well. nice furnishings, prints , decor, well equipped kitchen LFridge Bosch dishwasher great set up. dining section large window nice west view. I parked between Concrete pillars underground Perfect single spot 4 my P&J it was mind relaxing. Nice balcony Great Views of loders creek, marine rescue vessels, broady Van park, Seaworld, broadwater lower region, and surfers paradise, perfect for outdoor dining drinks, always something to see from this great vantage position. B,room had large sliding door on to balcony comfy bed and pillows. ensuite very clean, large window looking west, on warm / hot days Blinds Closed a Must. A/c Great. Nice sized pool area opposite reception area small parking section up ramp good shade lotsa times, entry direct into ground floor /lifts Friendly housekeepers, and office staff, always helpful Thanks to Christy , Prue. for helping me make a great choice in staying at this great part of the gold coast.

Received a warm welcome despite the fact reception was about the close for the night. My apartment on the third floor was nice enough. Received a warm welcome despite the fact reception was about the close for the night. My apartment on the third floor was nice enough. Someone had left part of the vacuum outside the front door, but that was easy enough to move. Was a little concerned the cover of the smoke alarm was open and looked like the battery had been removed (perhaps it was wired in and does not require a battery) As I wasn’t planning on doing any cooking the possibility of the alarm not working was something I could put up with. Not a huge TV watcher, however the device in the lounge room did not work, the page of room instructions advised multiple channels available via the Foxtel box. No Foxtel in room. Small TV in bedroom worked after I plugged to coax cable for the aerial back into the wall socket. Bed comfortable and I had a great night’s sleep. Sadly, no coffee pod machine in the kitchen, only sachets of some horrendous unknown brand, completely undrinkable. Overall, the venue is reasonable, just numerous little things are letting it down.

Great view of the Broadwater and a relatively quiet spot compared with the outrageous amount of constant road work and construction on the Gold Coast. Great view of the Broadwater and a relatively quiet spot compared with the outrageous amount of constant road work and construction on the Gold Coast. There is construction next door so ask for a room away from this side. Nice walk around the parks out front and to cafes close by. Close to Australia Fair shopping centre as well Secure car park and easy access to rooms via elevator. Staff do the best they can. Be prepared that the rooms are privately owned so not all are renovated or only partially renovated, so ask when booking. You just get the room, linen and bare minimum essentials to start you off so bring your own toiletries and dish liquid etc. The rooms have kitchen and laundry facilities. Beds were comfortable enough but whilst there was air conditioning in the living room there was none in the bedrooms. There are remote control fans that are difficult to control to a low enough setting. The second bedroom is completely dark and closed in as it has no windows or sunlight. These are minor issues which can be overcome, except for the biggest problem is the owners of this complex who constantly smoke on their balconies Each unit has its own balcony and the enjoyment of which is limited by frequent unexpected vile cigarette smoke. The smoking owners are apparently defiant about their right to smoke in their own property. The problem with this is obvious. Their properties are not separate land titles but are closely intermingled within a resort, whereby they have to share the space with, and be considerate to guests. They are not. Their guests are who is paying for the upkeep of their property but they choose to bite the hand that feeds them. The anti smoking laws prevent inconsiderate smokers from affecting the health of other humans and children in every other situation, beaches, offices, aircraft, near food outlets, parks etc so why aren't there bylaws in this circumstance? If it wasn't for this particular major issue I would have returned but will not be back. Not all but the inconsiderate owners are ruining a great place to stay. I hope the other owners vote to make the complex completely smoke free to preserve their livelihood.
