Fantastic location and very friendly staff. Rooms are well appointed. It is expensive but in our view worth it.

Tingirana is in a convenient location right on Hastings street with stunning beach views. Really lovely luxe hamptons feel. Beautiful high end finishes inside and gorgeous Appelle toiletries. Spacious bathroom, washing machine and dryer was great as we had a lot of laundry to do. Very comfortable bed. Pastries, fruit, coffee & newspapers provided each morning for guests & served downstairs but be quick as it was almost gone by 7.30am. The negatives unfortunately - what felt like non stop loud noise the entire stay which defeated the purpose of a relaxing mid winter break. We were woken every morning at 5 am by the restaurant immediately below when they unrolled their rusty hinged stacker doors and dragged around furniture resulting in the apartment floor shaking. Started with cleaners I assume, then later staff arriving? Noise continued until 7am ish, so no sleeping in at all. The restaurant doof doof music was so loud during the day we had to close the balcony door to try and muffle the sound. This prevents use of the balcony for quiet reading or relaxing and no fresh ocean breeze either. The restaurant noise continues most of the day until around 10pm when the restaurant packs up dragging everything inside and again the rusty track stacker doors being closed and the entire unit floor shaking. Was unfortunate as we had driven so far on the first night we went to bed at 9pm and were woken by noise at 10 pm. There is a council laneway alongside the end Level 1 unit and the restaurant smokers come outside standing under the bedroom window chatting loudly and chuffing cigarette smoke onto the balcony. Would be an issue for non smokers. Lots of screaming girls in the laneway at 3 am woke us again. Not much the hotel can do about that but is something to be aware of when booking. Laneway is busy 24/7. The huge amount of ongoing noise ruined our stay but the hotel itself was lovely and we would stay again but would be careful not to stay in level 1 apartments or on the levels above the laneway/ restaurant end purely because of the ongoing noise when you may want a peaceful break

Fantastic location on Hastings Street. Value for money? - not sure this place truly justifies the premium room rate. The reception staff need to be more knowledgeable about the room amenities and the facilities, we felt they were untrained. The rooms are getting tired in a number of areas. The bathrooms are very average with stained tile ground and wear and tear everywhere. The washing machines was very smelly and needs a good bowl clean - or replacing. The lighting is difficult to figure out and really could do with being labelled. The pool area also needs an upgrade with many missing tiles, furniture that needs re-staining or is broken. The cleaning service which as daily was hit and miss depending on who you got. No towels left one day, no replenishment of dishwasher powder and other amenities on other days. We extended our stay by one night and were called to see if our key was still working at 5pm, which it was - however upon returning from dinner later that evening we were locked out. An afterhours service was available to only let us in however this meant we could no longer leave our room or get back into the property as our key cards did not work. There was no apology for this or mention of it when we checked out. In fact we were not even asked about our stay on check-out. Not sure we would recommend or be back at the price.
