“Have returned to this place a few times because it’s so good and perfect for our family getaways.”

Such a great place for families, overnight or multiple night stays. Excellent & clean cabins, we used the indoor pool for hours. The staff are very friendly & helpful. The cafe is a great spot to get coffee & a bit to eat.

I have rarely rate any accommodation as a 5 star in all my reviews of all types of accommodation, however, we have stayed in many caravan park cabins over the years, but this one rated as the best cabin we have been in and I would give it 4.8 stars. It was a Deluxe cabin, quite new, clean and well furnished. It had a reverse cycle air-conditioner and TV in both the lounge area and the main bedroom. The kitchen had a large oven a full size refrigerator and a large microwave. The bed was very comfortable. The lounge area had a lounge suite which included a full length section as well as normal seating, a modern table and chairs. The bathroom had a larger than normal shower. While only two of us stayed, it was a two bedroom with two double bunks in the second bedroom. This room was not large and would be a tight fit if it was occupied by 4 people.

Accommodation Review – Discovery Parks Geelong Checking in was a breeze. I called ahead to confirm our booking and received a text in the afternoon with the access code for after-hours arrivals—super easy, no stress at all. We booked a 2-bedroom superior cabin. From the outside, it looked quite small, but once inside, we were pleasantly surprised by how spacious it actually was. What really impressed me was the cleanliness—spotless! Honestly, I hadn’t expected much from a cabin, especially after I stumbled across a terrible review during our stay. That review described a filthy cabin with rubbish everywhere, an unmade bed, and even condom wrappers in the bin. Had I seen that earlier, I probably wouldn’t have booked! Thankfully, it seems the cleaning staff have really stepped up, because our cabin felt fresh, had a modern kitchen, and even looked like it had been recently painted. The beds were a bit firmer than I prefer, but nothing too uncomfortable. My biggest disappointment was the Wi-Fi. I was hoping to unwind with some Netflix and catch up on a few emails after the kids went to bed, but I spent over an hour trying to connect and just kept getting “disconnected” or “disabled” messages. I gave up and decided to check in properly at reception the next morning. In the after-hours dropbox, we received a guest registration form along with a long list of park policies and liability clauses. When I went to the reception the next day, they didn’t seem overly welcoming,care about who I was or interested in the form. I also asked about the Wi-Fi, and the staff member seemed a bit annoyed. She told me the signal wasn’t strong and suggested I use my phone to hotspot—unhelpful, especially since I don’t have mobile data due to affordability. For a place that advertises free Wi-Fi, that was really disappointing. She insisted it “should work” since she could check emails and Facebook, but for us, it was non-existent. My girls used their own data, but I had no fallback and felt let down. The next morning, we were excited for pancakes, an event advertised on their website. We waited at the specified time, but no one showed up. My daughter asked a maintenance staff member who happened to walk through, and he said they must have forgotten. He later came back to say the machine wasn’t working—but there was a working stovetop, so why not use a pan? We ended up going out for breakfast instead. Later, we found out another activity we were looking forward to also wasn’t running, despite being advertised for that day. That was frustrating. On the bright side, the new indoor pool was fantastic—clean, warm earlier in the day, a bit cooler later on, but still enjoyable. It’s a big plus compared to other local caravan parks. I’d suggest adding non-slip mats around the pool area as the wet floors can be slippery. A spa would also be a great addition—it would really elevate the experience and make the park a year-round destination, not just seasonal. All in all, the pool and the cleanliness of our cabin were the highlights. The grounds were tidy and well-maintained. But beyond that, it fell a little flat. If you're someone who enjoys disconnecting from the world—no streaming, no social media—you might love it. But for us, staying in Cabin 85 right near the pool and BBQ area, privacy was lacking. We had to keep blinds closed (which didn’t fully shut) just to block the view in, which also meant losing that lovely sunlight. It was nice, but not amazing. That said, I would return for a short stay, especially for the price. Their rates are fair and reasonable. But if I were planning to stay longer than 2–3 nights, I’d probably look at other options in the area. As for caravan and camper van access—it looked a bit tight. The roads and driveways between cabins are very narrow, and the cabins are packed in quite closely. I’m not a camper myself, but from other reviews and what I saw, maneuvering might be tricky, so keep that in mind if you're towing.
