I was really impressed with the friendly and efficient service I received. After a very long travel day we found check in to warm, friendly and quick. We received a paper handout with all the vital information about the hotel, services etc which was very useful. The room was clean, spacious and modern with a small balcony with views to the water. We order room service, which we thought was well priced, $79 for calamari, and 2 burgers. The food arrived so quickly and was delivered with a smile, it was also piping hot and delicious. Check out was friendly and easy, we grabbed a coffee from the restaurant as we waited for our car to arrive from valet parking and the gentleman who served us was genuinely warm and friendly and looked like he enjoyed chatting to customers. Overall a quick one night stay that exceeded expectations.

Stayed 3 nights here as I was attending a function at the hotel. Checking in was quick and easy despite the large number of people checking in at the same time. My room was quite small - a king bed with side tables, a small built in wardrobe, chaise lounge and a long, narrow tv cabinet - but was spotlessly clean as was the small bathroom. The room had a tiny balcony which was pointless because it was crammed beside a building site. It was very noisy - and it had nothing to do with the building site within arms reach. I could hear the tv in the room next door and when they showered. Even though each room had its own heating/cooling system, there was still a loud and constant drone like the system was operating (when it wasn’t). This wasn’t just a problem on my floor. Friends on other floors reported the same noise. Traffic on the road out the front of the hotel (and my room was not even at the front) was really loud. I had to use ear plugs to block the noise while I slept. The hotel ammenities were a great standard. The buffet breakfast had a massive selection of food and drinks. I am taking points off my overall review because of the lack of safety measures at the hotel. The fire alarm sounded, followed soon after by an announcement over a speaker at the end of the hall. I’d like to be able to tell you what was said but the announcement could only be heard at one end of the hall and was made by a woman who spoke English as a second language. Thankfully the fire turned out to be a smoking iron in a room on a higher level, but it had the potential to be disastrous if it was an actual fire because half of the guests couldn’t hear the announcement and those who could would’ve perished because they couldn’t understand the staff member making the announcement.

Appreciate that significant infrastructure works are going on but the stay was not very good. The construction really makes getting in and around the hotel a bit challenging, with a reception desk tucked away in a small corner of the restaurant. Appreciate that significant infrastructure works are going on but the stay was not very good. The construction really makes getting in and around the hotel a bit challenging, with a reception desk tucked away in a small corner of the restaurant. Nobody could seem to point me in the direction of the lifts, which were actually up a flight of stairs which isn't very accessible for some people, onto a floor where furniture was just kind of stored in the middle of the first floor. The check in was not smooth with two staff members seemingly having difficulties with some sort of tech and leaving people waiting for a while. The floors and rooms are extremely run down (hence the building) and everything is just kind of tacked back together. There were other guests yelling and swearing from their balconies. When I tried to ring reception, the phone didn't work and they couldn't seem to answer the phone to discuss it. As I said, understand that there is significant disruption to facilitate building the new part of the hotel but it doesn't seem like anyone kind of knew what was going on.

I decided to give the property another try after not staying for several years. Mistake number one. No acknowledgement of Platinum status on check in which was sloppy and slow. Had been informed of building works via text message that informed me of 'some noise between 8am and 4pm' Was given a room at rear of hotel NEXT to building works. Woken at 7am by HIDEOUS noise. Could not even hear myself think at some point. Not a good way to treat a high tier guest noting I had made this booking many months ago so should have been treated a bit better. Breakfast average, most hot dishes were almost empty and almost cold. Asked to pay extra for barista coffee which is always no charge for Platinum Accor Plus members.
