We were in room 3 at the front of the building, and the property is close to Elgin street, but there was no street noise in the room, which was great for a good nights sleep. Comfortable queen size bed and mini kitchen with all facilities. Good shower and toilet We had booked off street parking in the secure area, but we were a little confused where to park on arrival, as we had to walk to another hotel to obtain the key and obtain check in details. When they rang to confirm our arrival time, they did not mention we would have to go elsewhere to check in (only 3 minutes walk away), even though we arrived at the time specified. Drummond apartments do not have the reception at that premises. The numbers on the key-in pad were difficult to read in the dark. other than that, we would definitely recommend staying here for a reasonable cost and a comfortable stay. We walked to Melbourne uni which is about 5 minutes away, and the walk was via well lit streets, so we felt safe. Be warned about on street parking, as we saw a car being towed away at 8.30am on the dot, which was one hour from the time permitted from 7.30am

The appartments in Drummondstreet are perfectly located between Lygon street (Italian quarter with lot's if restaurants) and Fitzroy (vibrant gentrified area). The appartments in Drummondstreet are perfectly located between Lygon street (Italian quarter with lot's if restaurants) and Fitzroy (vibrant gentrified area). It is also close to two parks that are nice for jogging and recreation. The apartments are of very different standard so be sure to ask questions about that when you book. The people that work here are very serviceminded. Special thanks to Sandy that was very helpful and nice during the whole of my stay

These apartments are very basic, but for a low price you can stay in a very good location, at the top end of Lygon St. I stayed there because I needed a room at short notice and there was not much else available in that part of Melbourne! The bed is not very comfortable, but otherwise everything works fine. Cleanliness is OK in the middle of the floors, but not so good round the edges! There is a proper little kitchenette area. W-fi is free and works fine. Getting in isn't easy after hours; although when I re-read the various (slightly confusing) communications from 'booking.com' I realise I should have gone straight to the apartments instead of to the other apartments they own in Elgin St. It is a little bit uncomfortable to know that there are no onsite staff afterhours at either apartments. I managed to get a free parking spot on Elgin St which was OK till 7.30am and then there is a commercial car park just half a block away on Drummond St for $3 an hour during the day time Drummond St is actually quite a quiet street, but there was a lot of noise in the hallway from other guests during the night, and immediately outside, which made me wonder about the sort of guests that stay there. You can get a tram on the corner of Elgin and Lygon St which takes you down to Swnaston St-very handy.
