Oceanic On Thompson Apartments

“Weekend Away”

We had a 3 night stay at Oceanic on Thompson. The apartment was clean, comfortable and spacious. Check in/out was a breeze. It was value for money and would definitely stay again if we visited Phillip Island.

Booked 2 nights in a one bed apartment, no reception at property, picked up key and information sheets from Phillip Island Apartments. Booking in very quick and staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful, very impressed with our accomodation, very spacious with 2 bedrooms and large balcony which overlooked the main road, yes a couple of items need to be addressed, sliding doors needed a good clean and range hood in kitchen very dusty but other that that the apartment was really clean and well set out. Will definitley return.

“Spacious but a few disappointments”

We stayed in apartment 3, which looks like the one on the website with the dining table beside the couch. It was an incredibly spacious 2 bedroom apt with a big walk in robe in the master. The bath in the bathroom was a pleasant surprise, as was the second toilet. Unfortunately there were a few things that let the apartment down. Some are not within management's control, like the east-facing windows making it very bright from 6am, and the position beside the road meaning lots of traffic noise - particularly when the garbage bins were collected two mornings in a row (Wednesday and Thursday). Things that could be addressed are a general freshen-up of the paint and carpets (several marks/stains) and some better tapware in the kitchen and bathroom (stiff and noisy). The door to the apartment sticks and is really hard to open (there was a lot of swearing until I worked out the trick). I was also disappointed by being given two double/queen beds when I had booked for two adults and two children. I concede we decided to put up with this rather than raise it with management. If we come back and have the same budget, I would stay at Oceanic on Thompson again, but only in an apartment away from the road.
