This is a friendly, straightforward, small hotel that's a short walk from Klagenfurt's centre. No complaints from me. It has everything needed - a good-sized room, aircon set at a comfortable temperature, breakfast with sufficient offerings to satisfy gluten-free requirements (ham, cheese, fruit, olives, yoghurt, etc), and front desk service that feels pleasantly personal. A nice little bonus is the good lighting in the bathroom. Finally, a bathroom design that was approved by a woman before installation! No issue with applying makeup there, in contrast to the acrobatics required in most hotels (hand-held mirrors by window light, kneeling on the floor, etc) where lighting has been designed to make the bathroom look pretty, rather than you. If you have difficulty with stairs ask for a room on a lower floor. There is no lift to the higher floors.

“Ironman Stay”

Stayed a few days pre Ironman. Ok place with all you need. Nice breakfast and staff. Overall a good place in Klagenfurt. If you're racing i would only say it`s a bit far from the start. Nothing to do with the hotel of course.

Within walking distance of the town centre. Rooms are of good size. On some days the rooms were cleaned well but on arrival I didn't feel this room had been properly cleaned. The breakfast was disappointing. A little warning on the parking if you have a large vehicle avoid driving through the driveway to the parking area - it's very tight. Better to park on the nearby streets.

“Good value for money, bad booking engine”

Imperfect (small room, uncomfortable beds, shower door did not close properly, no a/c under scorching heat) but hey, central, quiet and cosyunder £50 --however the hotel charged a fee that was £7 more than quoted by Booking.com (price guaranteed my ars£) but it was not the hotel's fault. Imperfect (small room, uncomfortable beds, shower door did not close properly, no a/c under scorching heat) but hey, central, quiet and cosyunder £50 --however the hotel charged a fee that was £7 more than quoted by Booking.com (price guaranteed my ars£) but it was not the hotel's fault. Locals say they are successfully fighting with an old reputation of having been a Laufhaus. Staff was very attentive and I would come back if need be.
