“Amazing Experience”

Took a direct flight from Los Angeles to Vienna where La Pura had a lovely man pick us up and bring us to the hotel about an hour away. Stayed for 2 weeks and had a fantastic experience. The staff and treatments are very professional and the doctors are very kind and knowledgeable. Everyone on the staff is lovely and friendly. The hotel has bikes that you can borrow and we took advantage of these and explored the beautiful countryside nearby. We also arranged a car through the hotel to take us to the Rosenburg castle nearby and then walked back. The hotel is about 2 blocks from the train station, Gars Au Thun, so it is easy to hop on the train in the morning to either visit Durnstein Castle or make your way into Vienna. We also enjoyed the morning hikes to the castle behind the hotel and the Nordic walking through the beautiful nearby hills. All in all an amazing and uplifting experience.

The hotel is a very nice getaway for a few days. The spa area is very nice (direcly from the spa you can go outdoors to sunbath in a garden or on a roof terrace) and top clean. The hotel is a very nice getaway for a few days. The spa area is very nice (direcly from the spa you can go outdoors to sunbath in a garden or on a roof terrace) and top clean. You can use a broad range of various body scrubs for free. Although I myself do not use spa I enjoyed very much the relaxation in the garden and sunbathing. It is a pity that there is no pool outdoors - while in the spring it does not matter I think that it would be great in the summer. This is the reason why I would not go there during the summer - spring or autumn seem to be the best seasons to visit La Pura. The room was clean and spacious but we were disappointed that we did not have a balcony. The food was really delicious and there is a big variety if healthy meals to choose from. The breakfast is amazing with a huge choice of meals, fruit, cheese, eggs, fresh juice, etc. The staff in the restaurant is super nice. The guests were also nice and polite. We did not see any guest who would be annoying. There were ladies of different age - from about 30's to about 60+. I would recommend this hotel as a getaway for a few days, not for an entire week as there is not much to do around (although you can go e.g. running, what I did). The ladies at the reception were also very nice and helpful.

We came for two nights with a girlfriend. It was overall very nice experience. Great attention to detail and very nice service. The dinners were very good. Rooms spacious and cosy. Pool 30 degrees. If i was being picky i would suggest following improvements: - it was impossible to find deckchairs in the spa so from all 3 days me and my girlfriend had to be separated - breakfast was ok without being overwhelming. I was missing pastries - lunch ok, salad buffet exactly the same in two days - treatments overpriced. I had two short ones (30 mins) and in both cases it finished 5 mins earlier. Not happy :-( But as i wrote, that’s being picky. Overall it was very nice and if opportunity presented itself, we would be happy to come back again. One more note - yes, it’s women only but they do employ men as well

We like the hotels from Vamed Vitality World (Tauern Spa and St. Martins) and often go there and are satisfied there, so we expected that their hotel La Pura will offer the same standard of quality. But not. We were very disappointed in La Pura by following: 1) Almost no one in the hotel speaks English, or their English is very bad. Hopefully we know basics of German, but we can’t imagine, how someone, who does not know German, can communicate there with the staff. Even English of the receptionist is very bad. 2) It’s hotel only for women, but the staff are men. Two men on the reception, two men – waiters – in the restaurant, other in the kitchen, one – maintenance in the spa. I understand that in the kitchen or as a maintenance there can work a man and it’s even better if it’s a man. But we would appreciate in the restaurant + on the reception only women. Guest go through the hotel only in bathrobe, no make-up, because they feel they don’t need to play a role as it’s hotel only for women, and if there is a man, it makes women feel uncomfortable without make-up and only in bathrobe. 3) The price is too expensive when you see how the hotel looks like. Bad cleaning in the room (stains on the floor in the room’s bathroom; toilet smells like non-cleaned properly for a long time, the equipment is old /sunbed on the balcony/, stains on the walls of the balcony, dirt on the floor of the balcony). The common area (spa, lobby, restaurant) looks very nice, but not the rooms and balconies. 4) The food is really non-tasteful. It’s cooked properly, but it does not taste nicely. Weird combinations, too oily, not flavoured enough… The least tasteful are the soups. Either you can choose bouillon, which tastes like it’s made of purchased dry bouillon, or there is everyday a „foam“ soup. Which tastes every day the same, does not depend which vegetable is it made of. What tastes nicely, are the desserts in the evening. 5) We booked the treatments in advance and received a schedule in advance from the reception of the hotel. So we planned in advance our trips according to treatment schedule. But when we arrived to the hotel, and we checked the schedule, we found out it’s absolutely different times than there were planned by the hotel in advance. So we needed to rebooked our trips to another time. No one said sorry or even told us that they changed our schedule of treatments. What is nice there: 1) Spa procedures. But only if you don’t go to Brigitte. She seems like she does not want to touch people and that she would rather do any kind of job than the massages. Who is perfect, is Magdalena and one dark hair young thin lady (we can’t remember her name now), both are very professional + Magdalena speaks English very well (maybe she’s the only one in the hotel who speaks well). We tried pedicure and cosmetics by those two ladies and it was amazing. 2) Spa and fitness area is very nice (+ the garden around is nice) and well equipped + the lady, who does excercising lessons is very sympathetic, friendly and professional. We appreciate there are many lessons to choose during the day. We also appreciated you can borrow there the towels and take a bottle of water + in swimming pool area there are also lot of drinks the whole day (home made ice tea, cucumber water…). 3) Women – waitresses are very professional, smily and sympathetic. On the other hand the young man – waiter – is very unsympathetic. 4) afternoon snack in lobby - nice area, tasteful cake
