We have traveled the world staying at various Marriott properties. This particular property stood out above the others mainly because of the lovely gentleman named Marc at reception. From the moment we arrived until we left he went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. I wish Marriott hired more front desk staff like Marc. He alone makes us want to go back to this Renaissance Wien as soon as possible. The hotel is excellent in every way. The room was large and comfortable. I didn't like the fact there was a glass wall behind the sink mirror in the bathroom. If we used the bathroom during the night the light shone into the bedroom. I wasn't a great fan of this. Breakfast had lots of options and provided a good varied healthy start to the day. The menu at the bar was a little limited but that maybe because there are so many places nearby to eat. I highly recommend this property for your upcoming stay in Vienna.

“Good sized rooms”

Our room was spacious and offered ample storage space, along with a variety of plugs and USB charging points for convenience. The bathroom had a nice shower and quality towels. In-room amenities included an iron, ironing board, kettle, and hairdryer. Both the room and bathroom had scuff marks on the walls which could do with a coat of paint. While the soft mattress was not to my personal preference, as I prefer a firmer one, it might suit other guests' tastes. However, certain amenities like a shower cap, vanity set, and sewing kit were noticeably absent, which was unexpected for a Renaissance hotel. I brought my own, so no big issue here. Milk and tea were provided only on the first night, when requesting additional tea and milk for the room, the receptionist seemed indifferent, explaining that in Vienna, these are only provided on the first night. He advised to request this from housekeeping before 8pm. When we tried to request this before 8 pm the next day, there was no response from housekeeping. However, the bar staff were helpful and supplied us with some milk. Luckily the last night, this was provided in the room. Check-in was slow due to a busy reception area with just one receptionist on duty. Housekeeping seemed to lack attention to detail. Although we didn't request towel replacement, the existing towels were swapped out for smaller ones, leaving us with hand towels instead of bath towels on our last day. The location is good with an underground station servicing line 4 just across the road. Despite some shortcomings, we enjoyed our stay, but there is room for improvement.
