I've stayed at many Marriott brand hotels the world over and can say without reservation that this is the best one I have stayed at. I missed being in the heart of the old town and worried the location might be a bit far from it. But the trade-offs for all that the Sheraton offered that the old town hotels did not was well worth it. A brisk 12 minute walk gets you there. The Mirabell Gardens is just adjacent and the Sound of Music bus tour meets at a point 5 minutes walk away. The staff were great, the breakfast hours were convenient and the food options - including eggs made to order - varied and flavourful (although the scrambled eggs could be improved, one day too watery, the next day dry and tough – something in between would be perfect.) One suggestion would be to clearly label all foods with allergy numbers – my husband has celiac disease and continually had to ask staff whether certain items had gluten, and they often didn't know. The executive lounge is well-stocked and a beautiful place to relax with long opening hours. Rare - if not nonexistent - a sleek little ice machine was just down the hall from our room, so ice was available whenever desired and in the desired quantity. Highest praise, however, is reserved for the rooms themselves. We spent 4 nights in the King Room with Terrace and lounge access - #122. While not the largest, grandest, most luxurious, or most opulent, this is quite literally the best hotel room I have ever occupied – the bed and bedding were comfortable, the blackout blinds (electronic) kept the light out, the double sinks in the bathroom, its size, layout, design and Japanese bidet toilet were perfect as was the makeup mirror and luxurious toiletries, the closets and storage space generous, and the outside terrace with electronic retracting awning to protect against both sun and rain when needed was sublime. The many thoughtful conveniences are what stood out for me – plenty of places to hang towels, entrance hooks, nespresso coffee machine and kettle, a nightlight, nighttime reading light and spacious bedside tables, plenty of electrical outlets, and two ingenious notched rods to hang more stuff that I have never seen in a hotel room before. An exceedingly well-designed room with the needs and comforts of travellers uppermost in mind. I strongly recommend the Sheraton Grand and would without hesitation stay there on a future visit.

“Perfect location for a Short visit to the city.”

I thought this would be a bit bland, however the property is modern, very well equipped, the service is superb and the location is ideal. We only stayed for one night in the middle of a two day city trip. Salzburg has so much to see we wish we’d stayed longer and will return and use this hotel.

From the incredibly welcoming attentive staff, perfect location for Salzburg, modern but warm design, wide spread of daily breakfast foods including an omelet chef, beautiful setting next to a beautifully manicured park… I could go on and on. The 7th floor lounge itself was a relaxing oasis with full lunch and dinner meals, extensive an array of drinks, cheeses, and desserts with an outside roofdeck overlooking the next door park. The workout, sauna, and yoga/stretching/ab rooms were modern and very clean. Incidentally it’s next door to Paracelsus - a Salzburg public pool (2nd floor 4 pools - clothed; roofdeck sauna and warm/cold baths overlooking Salzburg - not; quite a way to take in the sunset). If you’re visiting Salzburg whether with family, for sightseeing, or business, this is your definite destination hotel. You won’t regret it.

Sheraton in Salzburg has been a iconic hotel of Salzburg past 20 years eversince I am visiting Salzburg. Very good location right behind Mirabelle garden and very near Mirabelle Platz. Walking distance to most of the tourist spots of Salzburg. I got a recently renovated room which was very comfortable and good luxury level. Housekeeping and turndown service is to perfection. Breakfast buffet is having a good spread with lot of hot items and eggs made to order. Very good front desk and concierge services. Hotel has a spa although I did not have time for it. Overall a very comfortable stay. Will stay again when in Salzburg .
