We have just returned from our 5th visit to Pension Denggenhof and I really couldn’t recommend it enough. Hannah and her team make everyone so welcome. It has possibly the best breakfasts with a fantastic range of food and they also cooked on some evenings where the food was top quality. The rooms are also spacious and clean. The ski resort of Söll has an extensive range of slopes so this is the perfect place to stay while you explore the area.

“It's a must visit place”

It is very nice place located a few minutes’ drive from the lift, perfect for families. Rooms are big, freshly renovated and very cosy. Staff was very helpful. Special thanks to Hannah for “weiße Wurst” party, it was brilliant. Hope we’ll get back to you. Piotr

We stayed here for four nights and found this a great little place to stay. We arrived and were greeted by other guests who let us in and then shown to our rooms by members of staff. Rooms are spacious and warm and depending on the room, amazing views. Rooms are cleaned daily and are cleaned to a high standard. There is WiFi which didn’t have the strongest signal but that wasn’t a problem for us as it’s in a 4G area. Plenty of towels provided and little chocolates each day. Breakfast was amazing! Not only was there a gigantic selection of buffet foods to choose from, there’s also eggs and bacon cooked fresh. Absolutely delicious!! In the evenings there is access to a bar if staying around the b&b but we chose to eat out most nights. Taxi to Söll was around €10. There are some great restaurants and bars. There’s a ski bus in the mornings which takes you to the lifts or the ski centre where we left our equipment each day. There are also local buses which pass through Söll but don’t go near the lifts so be sure to check and get off at the right point. A recommended place to stay for a group.

Let me start off by saying the team at Denggenhof are lovely and the place itself is very cosy and clean. The breakfasts are indeed amazing, with plenty on offer (including sushi, bizarrely) as well as the offer of cooked eggs however you like them really. There is certainly nothing to 'complain' about at Denggenhof, but there are some things you should probably know if you're planning a ski trip to Soll. Location: Denggenhof is just outside the main town of Soll. No bad thing, as it's quiet, but if you're skiing you do need to consider this as the ski buses aren't regular enough to just hop on and off the mountain when you feel like it. Getting the bus in the morning is fine - it stops right opposite the B&B and you'll always get a seat. But getting back by the free ski bus is less easy. In fact, don't bother. You're better off walking back, which is a leisurely 25-minute stroll. If you do decide to walk, make sure to use Google Maps the first couple of times as it's easy to stray from the path and take the extra long route, as we did once. If this worries you, get a taxi from the town. This bring me onto ski gear - you don't want to be lumping your gear back to the B&B and I'm not sure they have anywhere to keep your equipment to be honest. It is absolutely worth paying to use the lockers at the Soll gondola - I can't say how much easier this makes everything, particularly as the walk from the Soll centre to the gondola is up the hill. Check in: I have to admit, checking into Denggenhof was a little strange. We arrived just before the 3pm check-in time, but we couldn't get in, nor was there anybody immediately on hand to greet us. We eventually were spotted by a gentleman who works there (possibly the owner?) who gave us the keys to our room... without checking who we were, but hey we knew we were in the right place! I think the Denggenhof could benefit from clearer instructions for guests upon arrival. Rooms: Again, these are nice but there are some quirks. It took us a while to figure out the lights were actually dimmer lights - so we thought they were broken for a while. Not a big deal, but there were other small things like this that we noticed. I think the rooms could do with a small welcome pack for guests, which could explain where the buses run from and what time etc, and even recommended places to eat in town. The rooms are very clean. The bathrooms are dated in design, but again very clean. We personally found the rooms at night very warm and dry - this may just be the climate and unavoidable, but we did struggle to sleep. The pillows are also very odd - they were extremely soft and flimsy. Some people may prefer that, but it wasn't for me. I'm also going to be really picky about the TV - it would be great if the TV signal could be boosted so at least one English news channel was available. It seems really stupid, but during the odd hour when you're waiting around before going to ski or just before bed, it's nice to watch at least one channel in your own language. But it's no big deal, and we did enjoy trying to understand the german programmes. Breakfast: This is one area that you can't really fault. There is simply loads on offer. Fruit, yoghurt, fish, cheese, meats, granola, juices, bread, you name it. Plus the cooked eggs. One thing to note about the eggs - they do seem to come laden with salt. They were so salty, that the next day we asked for no salt, at which point they were fine. This may just be how eggs are done in Austria :) Overall, the place was great, the staff lovely and for the price you cannot really complain. Just be mindful of the location and be sure you're happy to undertake the walk to Soll in case you miss a bus or taxi.
