We had a lovely stay at Hotel Goldried—our apartment with sauna and fireplace was great. The facilities and spa in the hotel are very nice, and the location near the ski lift is excellent. Breakfast was also good. Unfortunately, although we booked an apartment with breakfast specifically to dine à la carte in the evenings, the restaurant was unavailable due to oversold half-board, which was disappointing; special thanks to Zoltan for helping us get a short dinner slot. The sofa bed in the apartment is uncomfortable and should be replaced, even for children.

We booked an apartment with three rooms, a sauna, and a kitchenette. Check-in was easy, thanks to Miriam's assistance. However, the parking lot was full, so we had to park further away and walk back to the hotel. The pool and jacuzzi were spacious and offered stunning mountain views, but unfortunately, the water temperature was very cold. Additionally, the sauna in our room did not work. Breakfast was disappointing – it was too crowded, with low availability of food, and the coffee machine was broken. Overall, while there were some great aspects of our stay, improvements are needed in certain areas.

I booked the 90sq meter apartment for my family of 4. The photo they have of this apartment online shows wood floors and a sectional couch with 2 stories. I really wanted the large couch for my family to sit together for family time. The apartment we were given had old tile floors and a 2 seater couch with 2 ikea chairs. This made it hard to sit together as a family. I asked to see a room with a larger couch and then let me, but it was worse. It had the larger couch but the overall room was much smaller and still had tile floors. We opted to keep the room we were given. The bedrooms did have wood floors. The tile was badly stained and very cold. The kitchen was new and had most of what we needed but no toaster. They provided dish tabs and a dish towel but no soap for the sink to hand wash pots so we had to go buy some. We booked a stay including breakfast which at the time of booking was about €500 more than a stay without breakfast. The first day of breakfast we were very disappointed. The scrambled eggs were just wet, runny, and creamy. Looked like cottage cheese curds. Was not cooked. Unedible. The boiled eggs were boiled maybe 2 minutes with a totally runny yolk. Maybe some like that but thats not edible for us. Most other items at breakfast were of low quality. Only 2 small types of pastries. Some yogurt and canned fruit, lunch meat and cheese and a waffle maker which was the best thing they had going. We asked to please opt out of the remaining breakfast and they would only refund €7 per day per person but we paid €18. So be it. I would rather cook myself than be subjected to that breakfast. I usually LOVE European hotel breakfast and we stay at alot of places but this one was just disappointing and not worth looking forward to. They should refund the entire amount I paid. The hotel was practically empty when we were there which was sort of nice because the pool was empty and we had it to ourselves but on the downside the main al la carte restaurant wasnt open and if you wanted to eat that you had to sit in the breakfast room where they offer the half board buffet. We got pizza to go and that was disappointing too. The flavor wasnt great and the pizzas didnt look like the photos they have online. The room was large so that was nice. Having laundry was a bonus and the drying cupboard. I was very disappointed that apartment guests dont have access to the sauna area without spending another €15 per person per day. I was told thats because we have our own sauna in our room. This is NOT the same. The sauna in the room is very small and can only hold 4 people if we all sit up. No lying down. Even if I go inside the sauna alone the bench is too narrow to comfortably lay down and at the main saunas you can cool iff in the outdoor pool right away which isnt an option in my room. This is a deal breaker for me as I dont ski and stay in the hotel all day. Having the sauna area included is important for me. The room is dated in style but we didnt mind that as it adds to the ambiance of staying in the mountains. Pros: 1. right at the end of the valley ski piste IF the valley ski piste is open which it was not in late march. 2. Hotel has its own funicular from the lower garage to the reception which is great if you dont want to drive up the icy hill in the winter. I also used it alot when walking the dog…walk down the hill and ride it back up! 3. Large apartment with laundry and new kitchen 90 sq meter one. 4. Nice pool area 5. Sauna area only with textile and has family hours so you can introduce children to saunas (could be pro or con?) 6. Massage therapist was very nice and very knowledgeable and took time to explain issues to me. 7. Ski bus picks up and drops off at the bottom of the funicular every 15 min. 8. Ski service was fast. Dropped off at noon and had back a couple hours later! 9. Reception staff was friendly 10. View from my room and the pool area were great. Cons: 1. Food experiences were bad and the men in the breakfast room seemed VERY uninterested in their job. No welcome or good morning. 2. Mold in shower grout 3. Personal sauna too small and no access to full sauna area 4. No ambiance or music during massages 5. Beds too firm and very light duvet, was too cold 6. No bathrobe or slippers for apartment guests. You have to rent them. 7. Reading lamp in kids room falling out if wall and broken. 8. No towels freely available at the pool, you have to always ask at reception 9. Free lemon or orange water at the pool but the glasses were always gone and never restocked in the afternoon even though the hotel was so empty! 10. Upon our arrival we waited 15 minutes at an empty reception to check in. we arrived at 3:45pm and no one was there to greet us. 11. Hand soap dispenser in bathroom didnt work. Was lucky i brought my own bar of soap. No soap offered in 2nd toilet room.
