“Comfortable, budget hotel in the heart of Vienna.”

“Pleasantly surprised. ”

I stayed in this hotel as part of a choir group of about 40. The location was excellent, mainly big spacious rooms, very clean and sheets and towels changed, I think every day. It is a bit tired but I would definitely stay here again if visiting Vienna. The breakfast was very good especially the ap… more

“Budget hotel right near Schönbrunn Palace”

The hotel location is very convenient - 10 minutes walk to the Schönbrunn, 5 minutes walk to the nearest metro station (20 minutes by public transport to the center). The hotel located in the shopping line, though we were there between Christmas and New Year, and only once have seen the shopes open… more

“Surprisingly comfortable hotel at budget price”

This is a very modest hotel that is good value for money. Very large family sized rooms, good lighting which is rare these days in hotels. The rooms have good views all round. The fourth floor has been refurbished. But I was on the the floor below that has the lobby, which has walls that absorb… more

  • Guests at Hotel Ekazent Schonbrunn say: The hotel is a comfortable, budget hotel located just outside the city centre of Vienna. As we arrived a few hours before check in time we found the receptionist very helpful,as they let us check in early (which is always nice after a early flight). The bedroom area was large, although only two of us we had a triple room; more than enough space for the two of us, however the bathroom area could have done with being a little bigger. We really liked the walk in wardrobe too! The hotel is located a short walk from the Hietzing underground stop, which is the fifth stop to the central underground stop, Karls-platz where you will find the main shopping, restaurant and bar areas as well as St Stephens cathedral. A 24 hour pass for the underground is €8, which for all day and night travel is a well worth the money. It is worth noting at this point that we jumped in a taxi at the airport - DO NOT DO THIS as it cost €70. There is a great city link that goes directly from the airport to the centre for €12 one way, and then you can catch the underground, public transport is outstanding. The hotel is also located a short walk away from the Schonbrunn Palace, in which is a gorgeous walk through the Schonbrunn park. As in many cities we purchase the hop on - hop off bus tour so we get to see all of the city, and visit as many hotspots as possible. We found in Vienna you have to pay entrance into the many of the museums, galleries and attractions, and would we have known beforehand we would have purchased the Vienna Pass - we found having paid individually entry for all of the activities this would have been considerably more cost effective. We visited the Schonbrunn Palace, and this was one of my favourite visits. The grand tour was informative, however not too much information and the grounds are definitely worth a visit with the amazing views and design. Next we visited St Stephens Cathedral, in the evening this was lit up and less busy than during the day time. We then visited the Vienna state opera house, Beethovens house, Mozarts memorial, Freud Museum (very disappointing), the Kunst Haus Wien museum, Hundertwasser Village - the city has so many museums, galleries ect that i would recommend as long as possible to truly explore all of the city. On to eating out and nightlife, Schwedenplatz has many popular restaurants such as the Hard Rock as well as many pizzerias and our favourite - Bermuda Brau THE BEST RIBS EVER! The nightlife is Vienna is also brilliant, with many places offering happy hour this is one of the cheapest cities we have visited in regards to drinks. Happy hour drinks €2- €3 euros a pint! The main thing to remember here is do not judge a book by its cover, walking past many of the nightclubs and bars they look from the outside like they are very quiet, however as you go in you will find the main club is underground/ downstairs, Vienna Gnadenlos is great for a night out! Lastly i would like to add that we found all of the local people to be so so friendly and by far the most welcoming in comparison to any other place i have travelled which really made our trip.
