-good price - delicious breakfast - definitely not 200m from Prater - Very cold, we need to wear hoodies for the breakfast - dobrá cena - fajn snídaně - rozhodně ne 200 metru od Prateru - hodně velká zima, bylo to skoro zimní bundu při snídani :)

We stopped for the night in this hotel in our travels this winter. It is dated and needs to be redecorated however if you look on the bright side and value for money...the building has some nice features, rooms are big with high ceiling, the lift shaft is tiny but pretty. The price we paid for a suite for 4 people with breakfast included was very very good £60!! The bed was comfortable, clean, shower and toilet were pleasant. A few blocks down there was a small restaurant where they do lovely pizza..our needs were met! On our way back we looked to book it again for another night stop but it was fully booked.

We arrived in Vienna and we were dropped by taxi outside this hotel. The man on the Reception desk was friendly and very helpful. We checked in and thankfully only had to go up to the first floor but we were shocked, the lift is so small but everything looked so old and drab! We opened the door to the room, we thought it was self catering but there is no way we could have even boiled an egg. The few dishes and bowls did not match, there was only 1 glass, 2 cups but no saucers. No kitchen towel, no washing up liquid. We decided to just leave our luggage and go into the city being late in the afternoon but thought we would use the toilet first. Neither of us could face using the toilet, it was filthy. The shower room was so tiny and you had to post yourself into the shower but goodness knows when last they washed down the shower walls. The door had toothpaste and other smudges on it, just needed a good wipe with a clean cloth. The floor of the room is wooden with no carpets, but had obviously not been swept! The curtains don't close properly. We went out and bought some supplies to clean the toilet and kitchen. Using some toilet cleaner alone made such a difference to the toilet that we were worried that Management might get annoyed but no one commented for the next 4 days. The staff were so lovely and the breakfast was nice but as we were out so much and just needed a place to sleep we did not bother checking out and finding somewhere else. The bed linen was clean, the couch was covered with a duvet cover but it was so dusty. This hotel could do with an upgrade. Just a fresh coat of paint, a thorough clean, some carpets and new curtains should do the trick. Given the price they charge this hotel is not cheap but they were full the entire time so maybe we just had a bad room!
