Very charming family run hotel. The room was modern, spacious and clean. The food (we had half board so ate here every night) excellent with a good breakfast too. “Lovely stay, very friendly and helpful staff, great location”

The hotel is on the edge of Lech, its about a 5-to-10-minute walk to Lech’s main street, shops, bars etc. but the local bus stops opposite the hotel (every 20 minutes – look at the blue bus stop post for the times) which is an easier way to get to the lifts with your ski gear. The hotel is on the edge of Lech, its about a 5-to-10-minute walk to Lech’s main street, shops, bars etc. but the local bus stops opposite the hotel (every 20 minutes – look at the blue bus stop post for the times) which is an easier way to get to the lifts with your ski gear. We had a room at the front of the hotel which had a great view over the cross-country and walking tracks towards the mountains. The room was spacious, well furnished (modern/contemporary design with some nice references to traditional Austrian styles) and plenty of storage space. The service staff we very friendly and did a great job cleaning and preparing the room each day. The lobby and bar area was light, open and welcoming, lots of sofas and chairs to sink into at the end of the day, with a sun terrace at the front and side of the hotel. Restaurant was spread out across several areas; however, meals were a treat. Wide variety of cold and cooked options at breakfast with the meals at dinner very well cooked and presented, usually with a good range of main course menu options including a vegetarian option each night. I thought the pool area looked a bit dated, but the spa area (once you had found it) had a good range of sauna and steam room options. Boot room has heated boot driers with capacity for all the guests, but it is a smallish area with limited seating and did get crowded in the mornings. We had a very enjoyable stay at the Plattenhof and will have no hesitation in returning when we are next skiing in Lech. Tip Skiing back to the hotel If the snow is good this is very doable Starting at the top of the Schlegelkopfbahn chair lifts, ski down towards the Hinterwielift T-bat lift and the dual slalom course (on your right). Before the you get to the bottom of the slalom course head over towards the sculpture to the right of the course. From the sculpture head down the small hill between the houses and the wood, from here you will see the hotel car park, just before the carpark turn to the left towards the kids play area and the hotel terrace.

This lovely hotel is above the main village but is very accessible as a regular bus service (every 20 minutes) stops right outside. I stayed as part of a group of 6 skiers and the boot room is decent and easily accessed. This is not ski in ski out - don’t think about it as the nearby run is very difficult to access. Much easier to take the bus up and down from the village. On that, the ski pass covers all buses in the local area and to go to Zurs, much easier to use the bus than the gondola from the village at peak times. A bus will also take you to St Anton at 6E head. The hotel facilities are great and the bedrooms a decent size. The staff are excellent and will do anything to help. Breakfast is a decent buffet including hot food and although the evening meals were not always for me, there are several courses. Unusually a snack lunch is offered between 2-4pm. I would certainly stay here again

We have been coming to Plattenhof for a number of years now. Quite a few times at Easter. While the cleanliness and general good maintenance of the hotel continues, we were quite disappointed with what was offered for Easter itself. In the past there would be a more festive breakfast with festive food items . This time, apart from some painted eggs , it was as if it was a normal regular day. Also, lots of families are staying in the hotel- would Have been nice to organise an egg hunt/some activities for the kids. It just feels the owners want to close the hotel down in a rush… but people Have come there for holidays and the hotel was still pretty occupied. You must have been the only hotel in Lech that didn’t celebrate Easter…
