My wife and I recently stayed at Sayeman Beach Resort in Cox’s Bazar to celebrate our anniversary, accompanied by our 2.5-year-old son, Ahmad. Overall, it was a fantastic and memorable family trip, and we truly enjoyed our stay. We were allocated a corner room with both sea and hill views, and the view was absolutely stunning. The room location and scenery exceeded our expectations, and we have no complaints whatsoever regarding the room itself. However, there were a couple of service-related issues that I believe deserve attention from the management team. As someone who has experienced service standards at five-star hotels in Dhaka, I felt that the level of service here could be improved. On our first night, I requested an additional prayer mat since both my wife and I perform our prayers together. After calling Reception, I was advised to contact Housekeeping directly. When I called Housekeeping, I was informed quite bluntly that they do not provide extra prayer mats and that one prayer mat in the room was sufficient. While I understand there may be operational limitations, the manner in which the request was handled could have been much more guest-focused and courteous. I would encourage the Housekeeping management team to provide further training on handling guest requests professionally and empathetically. The second issue was with the air conditioning unit in our room, which was producing a very loud noise throughout the night. Unfortunately, it significantly affected our sleep, and one of our two nights was spoiled because of it. Given the earlier experience regarding the prayer mat request, I was hesitant to contact the hotel departments again late at night, assuming the issue might not be resolved promptly. The following morning, I spoke with AFOM Mr. Roy, who was exceptionally professional, attentive, and helpful. I shared both concerns with him, and he immediately took ownership of the situation. While we were out of the hotel, the air conditioning issue was resolved, and an additional prayer mat was also arranged for us. Furthermore, a Housekeeping Manager personally visited our room and sincerely apologized for the inconvenience caused by the AC issue. I would like to sincerely thank Mr. Roy and the management team for their efforts in recovering the situation. Their responsiveness and professionalism made a positive difference to our overall experience. To the General Manager: please review these service gaps to ensure future guests do not face similar situations. In a five-star property, guests expect not only excellent facilities but also proactive and guest-centric service. With some additional staff training and attention to detail, Sayeman Beach Resort can deliver an even more exceptional experience. Despite these issues, we had a wonderful anniversary trip with our family, and we appreciate the beautiful location, excellent views, and the efforts made to address our concerns. We look forward to visiting again in the future.
