I have spent 3 days in this hotel. Before I stayed with them in November 2018. My room had a modern oulook. The furnishings were good. Lots of space. I could easily sit on the desk and complete my work. The in built robe is well built, spacious and clean. The beds were comfy. The bathroom was spacious and clean. Hot water was running all the time. Although everything was very tidy may be the blankets and bed sheets needed a thorough clean up or replacements. The bathroom need some modern fittings too. The lightings inside the hotel room is worth mentioning. The swithboards are really functional as I can fit all of my European plugs as well as Australian plugs. May be the bedside lamp needed a new bulb cause it wasn't working. Not complaining though just letting the management know that these little twitches could boost this hotel up. Opposite to the Long Beach Hotel. That's why lot of good restaurants are within a stone's throw. Cafe 14 is just on the other side of the road. The beach isn't that far way. Just a breeze walk. The Receptionists are very helpful and nice. They even let me overstay by an hour due to late departure timing from the city. Recommend it to anyone with good value for their bucks.

Pretty average for the price I recently completed a two-week visit to Bangladesh and stayed at three different hotels. I will review them in detail and give an overview of my experience of budget hotels in Bangladesh as a tourist. Most of my thoughts, comments, and opinions on all three of these properties are the same so there will be some copying and pasting in these reviews. Tourists wishing to arrive in Bangladesh and receive a visa on arrival (VOA) are advised to have hotel bookings and Proof of Onward Travel (POOT). I made hard and digital copies of all my bookings, which were checked at the airline check-in counter and immigration in Dhaka. However, no one was interested in more than a few days of hotel bookings and I only presented hotel reservations for the first four nights. This is important for those of us who are plan-as-you-go travelers and don’t like to make bookings ahead of time. In the future, I will only book the first few nights and see how that goes. I ended up canceling several reservations (bookings) I made through Agoda because I changed my plans, and now, I have no doubt you can get a better price by simply walking in. On with the review of the Cox Beach Resort: I booked through Agoda at a rate of $42.55 USD per night. Not worth the price and I'm certain that you could get a better deal by just walking in. However, December is high season and the hotel was busy so perhaps not. This is a typical Asian-style budget hotel: a bit dated and could use some maintenance and a coat of paint. Having said that, the room and bathroom were reasonably clean, and the air-conditioning was excellent. The toilet did not function correctly. The wi-fi was so-so.
