Very good localization! Close to metro station, gothic district, santa maria del mar cathedral and quay with port. Quite big rooms and bathrooms. Comfortable beds . Efficient air-conditioning. Clean. Very good localization! Close to metro station, gothic district, santa maria del mar cathedral and quay with port. Quite big rooms and bathrooms. Comfortable beds . Efficient air-conditioning. Clean. Silent. Very good atmosphere and service at the reception. Really helpful receptionists. Good breakfast. Worth the price. I will choose this hotel the NEXT visit in Barcelona for sure!

This hotel does not deserve them low stars. It's gorgeous clean friendly staff great location, I really don't know what people have to moan about. The hotel is spotless rooms are fab the long curtains really make the room bathroom is very modern, the whole hotel is for that matter. Breakfast was nice what you'd expect from a hotel. I had bacon rachers eggs and sausage, lots of pastries cereal fruit fresh juice tea coffee. The staff couldn't help enough so friendly everything we asked for they provided. The location was perfect for every were walking distance to most things. Right next to the train station lots of pick ups from outside the hotel and in the road but it didn't bother us because the rooms are very sound proof. Maids came every day fresh towels and made beds. I would definitely stay again.

“Pleasant Pre-Cruise stay in a Good Location”

My sister and I stayed at Hotel Ciutadella Barcelona (in separate rooms) before our recent cruise, and overall we had an enjoyable stay. The location is excellent – just a two-minute walk from a Hop-On Hop-Off bus stop, which made sightseeing incredibly convenient. There's an Aldi less than five minutes away, which was handy for picking up essentials. The Metro stop is also close by and the hotel is practically next door to Estacio de Franca. The hotel itself is attractive, smells great, is clean, well maintained, and my room was a good size. When booking, I had specifically requested a double bed rather than two single beds pushed together. On arrival I was allocated a room with twin beds pushed together. It wasn't a major issue for me as I tend to sleep on one side of the bed anyway, but it's worth noting. My sister also received a twin room and raised the issue with reception; to their credit, they offered to move her. However, the room with the double bed was noticeably smaller (so she declined). One feature I really loved was the French doors in both the bedroom and bathroom, which gave the room a lovely airy feel and really brought the outside in. The gym was perfectly adequate for a hotel gym. As someone who enjoys stretching and a bit of yoga, I appreciated that mats were available, although there wasn't quite enough space for a proper floor workout. Most of the staff were excellent – friendly, professional and genuinely helpful. A special mention goes to (I think he was called) Rex on reception, who was incredibly helpful and gave the best directions. I'd also like to thank the lovely Santa R, who looked after me so well at breakfast each morning. She even arranged poached eggs for me, despite initially not being sure what I meant, which was much appreciated! 🙏🏾 The complimentary bottles of water on arrival were a nice touch. However, my sister's water was replenished during her three-night stay, whereas mine wasn't at all during my four night stay, which seemed a little inconsistent. One slightly odd aspect was being told there was no on-site restaurant, despite the hotel offering a fairly comprehensive room service menu. The main downside was an issue with the shower in my room. I reported it on my second day, but unfortunately it wasn't fixed before I checked out. The leaking shower head drenched anything left on the towel rail, making the rail difficult to use for drying while showering. The hotel felt a little expensive for what it offered, although admittedly Barcelona is not a cheap city to stay in. That said, the location, cleanliness and great staff made for a pleasant stay overall. Would recommend it? Yes and I would probably stay again. A few improvements would have earned a full five stars.

Lovely hotel, we stayed for the F1 Grand Prix weekend. Very close to train, metro etc to move around. Lovely hotel, we stayed for the F1 Grand Prix weekend. Very close to train, metro etc to move around. Location is also right in the Gothic Quarter, lots of bars, restaurants, coffee shops very close by. Marina is a 5 minute walk, many more lovely places to eat/drink. Hotel itself is nice and very clean. It was very quiet during our stay. There’s no bar just sofas in reception, this does mean the hotel has no vibe to it. Rooms are good, we had lovely double doors instead of a window, great for people watching. Bathroom was a poor design, you have to close the door to access the hairdryer, but that’s just annoying more than anything. Would stay again.
