I lived in Ghent city center for 2 years and know it well. There isn't a better hotel location if you want to be as close as possible while avoiding late-night street noise. Our room was clean and was large with high ceilings. The staff was friendly and helpful in our brief interactions, but everything was so easy and smooth that I didn't need to converse often. Of the few times I've gotten to return to Ghent, I have not yet used the same hotel twice because something was always missing. We will absolutely be staying at Ghent Urbanist when we return next.

We recently stayed at the hotel during a week long visit to Belgium. We found all of the staff super helpful from the minute we arrived in Gent helping us with our room, restaurant choices, getting around not just Gent, but also wider trips where we asked for guidance in getting to Bruges, Antwerp … more

We recently stayed at the hotel during a week long visit to Belgium. We found all of the staff super helpful from the minute we arrived in Gent helping us with our room, restaurant choices, getting around not just Gent, but also wider trips where we asked for guidance in getting to Bruges, Antwerp and Brussels. The team were fantastic with the children, and given it was Easter there was plenty of guidance on things which were happening. We had a family room on the ground floor, plenty of space to unpack and relax. Fresh bottled water and a mini-fridge in the room also. In terms of location, centrally located, and within a 5 minute walk from the closest restaurants and shops. A stones throw from Gravensteen castle. Also to note around a 10 minute walk from the closest logical Tram 4 stop - shortest point to point tram to Gent St. Peters. We did have a pram/buggy with us, and managed, though it's important to note that most of Gent is cobbled. Everything was just perfect, and we had no complaints whatsoever. Big thank you to the team!!

“Lovely stay!!!”

Practically perfect in every way! Lovely, bright, clean and very quiet hotel in an awesome location. (A quick 5 min walk to the Castle and all the sights) The front desk person who checked us in on Friday March 27 at 230-3 was lovely! We forgot to get her name but she also made my husband delicious… more

Practically perfect in every way! Lovely, bright, clean and very quiet hotel in an awesome location. (A quick 5 min walk to the Castle and all the sights) The front desk person who checked us in on Friday March 27 at 230-3 was lovely! We forgot to get her name but she also made my husband delicious Negronis at the cute little hotel bar (and me a delicious cappuccino!) on Sunday March 29 in the early evening. She’s so warm, welcoming and friendly. A true asset to the hotel. Katy in the breakfast area is awesome, as well. She worked non stop to keep the breakfast buffet beautiful! So many choices all presented in such an appetizing way. The breakfast was definitely a highlight of our stay! And this was due to the hard work of Katy. I researched many hotels for our trip to Ghent and without a doubt we’re so glad we stayed at the Urbanist. We would stay again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to friends and family!
