Our great experience began the moment we arrived. Our hosts insisted on helping to carry our bags up to our room. And once we got there—well, “room” doesn’t do it justice. It was a huge, airy space, tastefully decorated, and extremely comfortable. Anne was very kind and helpful, including providing local information and directions to save us time and money. Breakfast was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return without hesitation.

We have stayed in hotels and B&B's all over Europe and beyond, however few have matched Au Grenier for customer service, surroundings and comfort. We have stayed in hotels and B&B's all over Europe and beyond, however few have matched Au Grenier for customer service, surroundings and comfort. The only negative thing I can say is we only stayed one night - so wish it had been longer! We were lucky the weather was so hot and although we did not have time to take a dip in the lovely outdoor solar heated pool, we were able to sit in the garden, with great views and eat our picnic, in the company of our hosts Anne & Bruno & their family/friends. They made us so welcome and even treated us to a piece of homemade apple cake. The room was very large with everything you would need. The TV has many English channels and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was more than excellent with much of the contents either homemade and/or grown in the garden. I could go on and on.....so please try for yourself if passing via one of the nearby motorways or if visiting Ghent itself. Certainly worth the €120 we paid.

“Great place to stay in Ghent..”

My wife and I stayed in the suite last night on our way to Maastricht. Anne and her husband are really superb hosts. Only had the one night but will definitely be booking again for a few days next time. Breakfast is excellent and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend this b&b. Thank you Ann… more

“Fantastic B&B on outskirts of Ghent”

This is our third time staying at a B&B and we tend to instead stay at Gites/cottages/apartments for the increased privacy, but this was certainly one of our most pleasurable stays. This is our third time staying at a B&B and we tend to instead stay at Gites/cottages/apartments for the increased privacy, but this was certainly one of our most pleasurable stays. We had a humongous top floor "bedroom", i say "bedroom" as it was much more like a suite only lacking a kitchen/ette. It felt completely separate from the rest of the house and so had an apartment feel to it. There was limited English channels on the television which is a slight letdown, but still it was nice to see some English TV. The bed was also a little hard for our liking, we're used to sleeping on memory foam and so it is rare to come across a bed which fits our exacting requirements. Other than this I have nothing to say but praise for the property. The location is great (5 -10minutes drive from Ghent), with only minor noise from the odd car which is travelling to one of the neighbours houses. The breakfast is fantastic, breads, meat, cheese, cake, cereal, yogurt, homemade jam (banana and rhubarb was oddly delicious), and fresh apple juice from the apples grown in the garden. Anne was a terrific host - Very friendly but not overbearing. We only met Bruno in passing (I believe he was going to work, and he wasn't home until late the night before when we arrived) however he had a friendly demeanour. Whilst during our stay it wasn't overly hot, we noticed there was a 4 way ceiling AC unit, which I'm certain would be superb on hotter days. I really struggle to find anything bad to say and I'm sure there are positives I have missed. We really hope to return in the near future.
