The hotel is well located in an area that feels safe and local - good transport links for the U-bahn and excellent bus system. Near to the zoo as well. The hotel itself is no-frills with small rooms - don't aim to spend much time there and try not to bring too much luggage. But it's a good base for a city break. There isn't really space to unpack and luggage can be stored below beds but not much space to open it. The bathroom is tiny with one tiny shelf and there are small bedside tables plus a small hanging space and shelf by a full length mirror. There is a hairdryer. There is no safe, fridge, tea or coffee facilities in the room. Reception has a vending machine and the breakfast is actually quite good (hot eggs, breed and cold cuts). The biggest issue is the room is so contained it is like an oven and the air con achieves nothing. Definitely keep the window open to let in some air.

I stayed 4 nights here solo and it was perfect for me. The whole hotel was very modern and clean, and my room was facing away from the street so it was super quiet even with the window open. The only noise I ever heard was when people talked loud while walking by in the hallway. The location was amazing for my first visit to Berlin, just a short walk from many interesting places and attractions, and it's right at the Wittenbergplatz Ubahn station, so it only takes around 15 minutes to get to central Berlin. There is an Edeka across the street, and a Lidl and a little Netto are both nearby too. Even though it was perfect for me, I think the room would be tight for 2 people, especially the room with 2 beds as it doesn't even have a table, just a small shelf and a chair at the nightstand. I also used the second bed for my clothes and tucked my bag on the other side, but I think if you had 2 people you would have to store your clothes either in your bags or on the little shelf. However, the bathroom areas were a great size, and I liked that the toilet had a separate room, so that would be great for 2 people.

Berlin is the one city where I have stayed in dozens of accommodation, from youth hostels to 5 star hotels. I've been visiting regularly for over 30 years. Ibis Budget Kurfürstendamm is one of the better low-budget hotels, even within its chain. Well located, adequately maintained and decently priced. Yes, rooms are small, but not as small as e.g. easyhotel Hackescher Markt, where you pay about the same, but get even smaller rooms at a less convenient location. Breakfast is adequate. You shouldn't expect 5 star amenities if you pay for a one-star hotel. This hotel will work for anybody understanding the concept of a budget hotel. Keep in mind, this is not even an Ibis Hotel, it is an Ibis BUDGET Hotel!
