This was my second stay at a Leonardo Hotel—following a stay last December in Amsterdam—and the Berlin Mitte location lived up to the consistency I’ve come to expect from the brand. As someone who travels regularly throughout Europe, I value hotels that are well run, reliable, and comfortable for more than just a night or two, and this property delivered on those points. The staff were consistently professional and welcoming. The concierge deserves special mention for being both knowledgeable and genuinely pleasant, offering practical, thoughtful advice rather than generic recommendations. The location is one of the hotel’s strongest assets. Situated right in the heart of Berlin, it is extremely convenient to nearby train and transit stations, making it easy to get around the city. The surrounding neighborhood is excellent, with a wide selection of very good restaurants and numerous small pastry and coffee shops. On days when I wanted a simple bite and a warm refreshment, I discovered Fresh Bäckerei, located about a five-minute walk from the hotel. Everything was freshly baked, and the staff there were genuinely delightful—an easy, welcome find during my stay. My room was well suited to a longer stay—comfortable and appropriately sized for a 10-day visit, with a spotless bathroom, good amenities, and a high standard of cleanliness maintained throughout the hotel. Everything felt orderly and dependable, which is especially important on an extended trip. Breakfast at the hotel was also a highlight. The dining room offered a generous and well-organized selection, and the quality—especially the pastries—was notably good. It was an easy, unhurried way to start the day and compared favorably with other European city hotels in this category. This is a dependable, well-located hotel that prioritizes comfort, cleanliness, and professionalism over unnecessary frills. I would stay here again and recommend it to travelers looking for a calm, efficient base in Berlin-Mitte.

We just returned from the hotel.It has lots going for it. It is walking distance to the centre and facing a mainline sation with direct trains to the airport. The staff were excellent and always very friendly. The hotel breakfast was really good although limited. The downside is that the hotel is very minimalist and our triple room which we shared with our teenage daughter had one small hanging rail and no cupboards or drawers. we basically all had to live out of suitcases which wasnt too bad for our three night stay but unsuitable for any longer. There was a large TV which didn't work properly and reception werent interested in fixing We found they only had german programmes anyway which is unusual in these days of digital TV.

Nice hotel overall, in an amazing location, small room for 2 people, very nice and new shower, but there was something in the room not new as table with scratches etc. And so nice room but nothing special for the price that I paid. The blanket on the bed was so small and short. In the first night there was the noise for the hot air. Long wait for the elevator. Before to come there , I asked them to have the slippers and they told me yes when you will come,you can ask at reception . When I arrived, I asked at reception and he told me that I will find them in the room but there weren’t. And so no comunication between receptionists. And so I come back to the reception and I told him that they weren’t in the room and finally he gave to me. Normally If the customer asked the slippers before to come there , the most important thing to do is to leave slippers in the room in order to give the best service/ hospitality to the customer. Sometimes I didn t find people at reception for only some minutes and I think that if the hotel is in the high category , I must see people at reception always to give the best Welcome in every moment. Good food in the restaurant but only 2 waiters for many many customers, you should hire more people. I asked to have a clean table and I don’t know how long I waited. In order to have a good service it is necessary to have more employees. You should be more attentive to details and service.

The location is definitely the strongest point. The hotel is very well situated, close to both S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations, and within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, and coffee shops, which made getting around Berlin very convenient. The hotel itself was clean and tidy, and the staff we interacted with were polite and professional. However, the room was extremely small for a double. While the bed size was fine, the mattress was very soft and springy, and the pillows were particularly uncomfortable, which impacted sleep quality. There is no air conditioning — only a heat thermostat that cannot be turned off. Even when set to the lowest setting, it automatically increased again, making the room uncomfortably warm. Our bathroom also had a strong drain smell, which combined with the heat was unpleasant. Thankfully, we were out most of the day and evening, so it wasn’t a deal breaker, but it is worth noting. The gym/fitness suite was very limited. It is small, with no free weights — only a treadmill, cross trainer, bike, and a cable machine that was missing several parts, significantly limiting what exercises could be done. The most frustrating aspect of the stay was the elevators. We were on the 5th floor (out of 9). Although there are three elevators, one was out of service for our entire stay. The remaining lifts were unreliable — often not responding when called, skipping our floor despite indicating they would stop, or taking a very long time to arrive. At times we waited up to 10 minutes, and when they did arrive, they stopped on nearly every floor even when no one appeared to be waiting. This was especially frustrating on arrival and departure days when carrying luggage, as the stairs are not a practical alternative — be warned. Overall, the hotel is fine for location and cleanliness, but the room comfort, facilities, and elevator issues prevent it from being more than an average stay.
