We’ve just spent a wonderful week decompressing at Coco Reef . We can’t say enough of the warmth that exudes from staff. The best that the Atrium Bar and Lounge can offer, besides it’s famous rum swizzles, is Patrica. Welcoming, professional, she solves every query you might have about everything from ferry routes to the history of the hotel. If you’d enjoy a holiday void of souvenirs, loud music, prompts to join salsa dancing and volleyball this is your place. Waves are the only background sound you’ll hear.

“Beautiful Bermuda”

Fantastic location, right on one of the best beaches in the world. Room was nice and spacious and very comfortable. Great having a drink near them, incredible views. Fantastic location, right on one of the best beaches in the world. Room was nice and spacious and very comfortable. Great having a drink near them, incredible views. Even managed to see whales from the beach which was special. The reason I can’t give 5 stars is due to the unexpected $200 bill at the end of the stay which was pitched as a server ce fee. Seemed very odd! No proper receipt provided either. Booked with travel up which stated all fees included. Check before you book.

“Good hotel except for room 106”

Stayed for eight nights in March 2026. Unfortunately, the first night was a bit of a disaster. Our room, 106, sits above a plumbing plant room. Within that plant room, some sort of pressure release valve was making a banging noise every minute or so, allowing not much sleep. Added to that, the TV was not working, a drawer was missing, and there was no patio furniture (which all other rooms had). To top it all, the bedside alarm had been left set for 6am..... We switched rooms the next day but the reception staff were unwilling /unable to adjust our account for the unacceptable room. A conversation I had with the general manager resolved this. Thankfully, he was very professional and customer focussed. The rest of the stay was enjoyable and without further incident. As others have said, the shower door is way too small and the bathroom floor gets a good soaking with every shower. One improvement that would be welcome would be the installation of a proper ground coffee machine at the bar. The hotel location is outstanding, right next to the beach. Local supermarket is an eight minute walk. Overall, a good hotel, but room 106 needs to be taken out of service.

I recently stayed at Hotel Coco Reef in Bermuda and had a mixed experience. The property itself has some wonderful qualities, but there were also several issues that affected the overall stay. To start with the positives, the ambiance of the hotel is cozy, quiet, and relaxing. The views of the ocean and pink sand are beautiful, and it’s a very peaceful setting. The lobby was also clean and well maintained, which gave a nice first impression. The room itself was standard, but unfortunately the bathroom and shower setup were very disappointing. The shower has a glass divider that is far too small, so every time I showered the entire bathroom floor became soaked—even when I tried laying towels down. The rainfall shower head never got hot and only produced lukewarm water, while the water only warmed up when using the handheld shower head. The water pressure was weak, which made the shower even less enjoyable. There were also cleanliness issues in the shower. I noticed pink slime and suspicious smears on the shower walls and grout, which did not give the impression that the shower had been properly cleaned. Additionally, there was nowhere to place toiletries or bar soap in the shower. Since I use bar soap, having no shelf or soap dish made it inconvenient and poorly designed for actually showering. Service at the hotel was inconsistent. On the positive side, Lisa was wonderful. She was energetic, friendly, and helpful from the moment we arrived. When we checked in and our room was not ready yet, she invited us to sit in the restaurant area. We had food we purchased before arriving and asked if we could eat it in the lobby. She kindly explained that outside food was not allowed in the restaurant but escorted us to a designated spot where we could eat, which we appreciated. Lanel at the front desk was also a delight. She was bubbly, welcoming, friendly, and easy to talk to. She truly made us feel comfortable and taken care of. Staff like Lisa and Lanel are a real asset to the hotel. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by an uncomfortable interaction with Rohan, who we later learned is the restaurant manager. While we were finishing the food Lisa had allowed us to eat in the designated spot, he walked by, then made a beeline back to us to say, “I see she’s almost finished eating, but I just wanted to let you know that there’s no eating outside food anywhere in the hotel.” This was confusing because Lisa had already directed us to that location. My partner even questioned whether that was accurate. What made the interaction worse was that Rohan never introduced himself before giving instructions, despite being the restaurant manager. The approach felt abrupt and uncomfortable, and it completely ruined my appetite in that moment. After that interaction, every time I saw him around the property it made me uneasy, which unfortunately impacted the rest of the stay. Another disappointing interaction was with Patricia, the bartender. When I approached the bar, she did not greet me. I’m a very friendly person and greeted her warmly, asking how she was doing. She responded with a short, low-energy “okay.” When I asked what drinks were good, she said “I don’t know, I don’t drink.” I had a coupon for a complimentary drink and asked which of the two drink options was better. She simply shrugged. I then asked which drink people usually order, and she finally said the swizzle, but the entire interaction felt short and dismissive. I tried to be understanding and asked how long her shift was, and she said she was working the whole day, so I empathized with her. Still, bartenders are typically expected to be welcoming and engaging, especially in a vacation setting, and unfortunately that was not the experience here. We also ate at the hotel restaurant. The food itself was okay, but our waiter—a South Asian gentleman—was excellent. His service was warm, attentive, and professional, and he truly made the dining experience enjoyable. Overall, Hotel Coral Reef has a beautiful setting, peaceful atmosphere, and some truly lovely staff members, especially Lisa and Lanel. However, the bathroom cleanliness issues, poorly designed shower, weak water pressure, and a few uncomfortable staff interactions made the stay feel inconsistent. With some attention to room maintenance and stronger hospitality standards across all staff, the guest experience could improve significantly.
