We arrived late at night to a friendly reception after a long journey. The room was ready on the 14th floor. The triple room we booked was in fact a double with a single which worked out ok as we were a traveller short. The bed was however very hard so be prepared for that. The room was clean and tidy and the air-con was a welcome bonus. The bathroom was clean and tidy butt the lack of hot water was a bit of a let down. I think we had one hot shower for the 10 day stay although it took some getting used to it was actually not too bad. We were lacking a safe which we were promised on day 2 which never arrived but we managed that. The wi-fi in the room was great once it kicked in and the request for additional pillows was followed up on. The toilet did block and that took about 24hrs to get maintenance to clear which was a bit frustrating. The roof pool and terrace were a little disappointing and there were only 3 loungers and the bar was not in use which was frustrating when drinks are required. The area was however very clean and maintained well and the views over the city are great. The Hotel is/was located 50 yards from the beach and approx 100 yards from the Fanzone which was positioned on the beach. Ideal location for the bars, restaurants and there is a taxi rank on the doorstep which was perfect. Breakfast was always fresh with a good variety of fruit, cereals, breads, pastries and soft drinks. The coffee was a little strong but a mix of 2/3 milk to 1/3 coffee and it was ok. We didn't dine at the hotel so difficult to comment on that. The room was made up nicely every day except the day we were in there so that was our issue not there's. The toilet paper is not a luxury item as one side is like sandpaper and the other is like tracing paper - you have been warned. Soap and shampoo are provided and accumulate if you didn't use it! There are many TV channels, even a couple that were in English for 24hrs which was great if required. The plug socket is standard European 2 pin so no need to take all options. We were unable to extend the room departure as the hotel was full probably due to the World Cup but otherwise i think the very helpful reception would have accommodated if the could. They even printed off our boarding passes which was nice of them.
