Sunday, 24 h layover in Recife, where to go ? I asked the taxi drive and he drove me to what he thought was “a good hotel for one night”. It actually is more than that. Do not expect sofistication, the property needs some renovation, but it is worth the price. Good location near the beach, there’s a supermarket across the street, ATM, clean room, a/c, hair drayer, working desk, beds are fine and shower works well. There’s even a small pool, gym and solarium on the second floor. TV is old and does not work properly. Front desk is friendly and professional so no complains.

Location is prime in Boa Viagem, very uncomplicated cheap and basic hotel for those with little or low expectations. Location is prime in Boa Viagem, very uncomplicated cheap and basic hotel for those with little or low expectations. Reception is efficient and that's about it, rooms are large and functional, breakfast is awful, internet is reliable when it works, services are non-existing. You pay little and get little in return and, in that regard, the hotel is indeed cost-effective, much better than many pretentious others in town which overcharge you and grant you much less.

I stayed at LG inn during the RECIFE and Olinda carnival. Overall the experience was a good one. Rooms are decent although a little outdated but still clean and presentable. The bathroom was also good with a very powerful shower and good lighting. The staff were all very hospitable and knowledgable. Some spoke English which was very useful as they were able to help with buses and things to do. The staff were great. The only issue is that the WiFi is not very good. On some days it worked in the room and others it didn’t either way it was slow. The communal areas are better but still an inconvenience. This is why I have given one star less rating. The hotel has a gym with an old multi-gym which can still be used. No weights. Breakfast was the same everyday but adequate. Buffet style hot food. The staff were also very good. The hotel is well located for bus stops which was good for me as it was easy to get to Olinda carnival. There is also a Carrefour supermarket opposite. Overall I had a good experience at this hotel and would stay again.

Stayed here during the group stage of the World Cup. Room was nice; nothing very good or bad about it. A generally positive stay with following comments: Pros: - nice central location in the Boa Viagem area (which is well south of Recife), two blocks away fom the beach - friendly desk staff that did their best to help with the Portuguese/English language barrier - solid breakfast with fruit, cakes, hot dishes, and juices. The best breakfast of our trip- the quijo frito was great if you like cheese! - welcome Capirinhas and vouchers for free drinks at the bar (so this might have just been during the World Cup, but it was a nice surprise after the long hours of travel to get there!) - located around amenities (carrefour supermarket across the street and plenty of restaurants) Cons: - was unable to connect to the Wifi in the lobby and was pay-only throughout the rest of the hotel - the elevators were quite slow. If we weren't on the 9th floor we would have taken the stairs every time instead of waiting 10 minutes.

Stayed during the opening games of the World Cup - so they were fully stretched. The room and bathroom is basic, but clean. The breakfast was good (Brazilian style - so lots of fruit and cakes and small breads). You are very close to the beach and not to far from the Metro - so it could be much worse!
