Ibis Manaus Aeroporto

“Solid Ibis”

This Ibis is conveniently located near the Manaus airport, but does not provide a shuttle service. We took therefore an official taxi. Our room was tidy and the bed very comfy. Breakfast was also very good.

First, the positives: There are beds. And they seem clean. The hotel and the bathrooms appeared clean. Excellent water pressure in the shower. (They got the third star because of this and the staff) Front desk staff were friendly and able to help in English, which was wonderful since we have only a little Portuguese. But. LOCATION: -When going to the airport, there's the inconvenience of having to go to a retorno for a U-turn that is almost as far away from the hotel in the opposite direction as the entrance of the airport. Doubles the (short) time to get to the airport. -no walkable restaurants or shopping/groceries Unless you want to Uber somewhere, you're stuck with the hotel's offerings. -restaurant offerings were okay, nothing to write home about; wait staff was polite and responsive ROOMS: -Be aware that the rooms are small by American standards and smaller than the Manaus Holiday Inn rooms where we have stayed before -The hallways and air conditioning smelled strange--might just be an unfamiliar cleaning product, but it wasn't very pleasant. (Grateful for air conditioning in the heat and humidity of Manaus, tho') -We had 3 rooms for our family reserved for more than a month in advance for our return from a rainforest adventure, 3 people to a room listed on the reservation. When we arrived, we found only 2 thin towels in each room. We had to go to the front desk to obtain the appropriate number of towels (only asking for one towel per person, and feeling annoyed that they asked for so much information in advance about every person staying, but couldn't have adequate number of towels ready for sweaty people coming back from the forest.)

Despite the bad reviews, we chose to stay here because we were arriving in Manaos late at night, to then be picked up the next morning for an Amazon tour. Otherwise, we would’ve avoid it. Despite the bad reviews, we chose to stay here because we were arriving in Manaos late at night, to then be picked up the next morning for an Amazon tour. Otherwise, we would’ve avoid it. Our experience wasn’t much different from others. There were several issues with the bathroom in room 161. First, numerous water droplets from condensation in the ceiling, the droplets were there already when we checked in. The AC unit on top of the bathroom door also leaked on the floor. The shower door didn’t close completely, causing water to leak onto the bathroom floor. No hand towels, just two paper thin bath towels and floor. The only good thing was the pressure of the shower-head.
