I have been traveling to Macae for years. I have always requested this hotel since the first time I stayed. Excellent staff. Scenic location. Great food. Even has a pool table! I walk the beach each night and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing stay.

As an experienced frequent business traveller I have had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Du Lac. During my trip i found all the facilities, amenities and services at this establishment fully met my every customer expectation. However the staff at this establishment were so helpful, friendly and customer orientated that it must be said that the overall experience fully exceeded my every expectation and subsequently I would highly recommend this hotel to any traveller.

“Quiet and clean place but far from night fun”

Probably the relation price to quality is quite good being an oil city. Rooms are big but they do not take too much advantage of that, and wood furniture makes it very obscure. Probably the relation price to quality is quite good being an oil city. Rooms are big but they do not take too much advantage of that, and wood furniture makes it very obscure. The Pecado beach is less than 2 blocks, nice to swim if you like rough sea. The Cavaleiros beach, better one, is 2.5 Km, then maybe a hotel closer to it, and to all sort of restaurants and night atractions beside it promenade, would be a better election for same price.

After spending many nights at this hotel over a three year period, this is my first time back to Macae in twenty months. Based on my previous experiences here, I am happy to report that there have been several areas of improvement in the overall delivery and quality of services that are truly meaningful to guests in general and outright necessities to foreigners spending large blocks of time away from home. Internet access and quality is now of a high standard and they have finally provided an English language news channel on the TV system....that's almost unheard of at any other hotel I'm stayed at in Brasil with the exception of the large international chains. The quality and variety of the evening buffet has also made a move upwards compared with it's past offerings when they specialised in "thematic buffets" which, although interesting at the outset, became boringly repetitive for someone that was spending as much as four months a year in the hotel. The staff here have always been very amicable and helpful although the majority were unilingual which could be a bit of a challenge at times for non-Portuguese speakers like myself. However, I notice now that a higher percentage of hotel staff have foreign language capabilities. On the whole, I think the new GM has brought a fresh point of view to the hotel and is driving the operation in a direction that will appeal to a much wider variety of clientele. As always, the housekeeping staff and laundry staff continue to do a stellar job of taking care of the guests.
