Basic hotel, close to town centre and transport links. Decent room size for the price we paid. Basic facilities and amenities. Breakfast was better then expected. Helpful staff. The lady at the travel desk gave us a good deal for Macuco boat ride.

The dormiroty have a private bathroom, the staff at the reception were nice and helpull. A little bit far from things except from a supermarket about a 5-7 minutes walk and have everything. The breakfast was nice but not rich. Over-all it´s nice.

Alltough breakie isn't their biggest thing,this dudes had effort tons on their job,get mosquito spray for the warm season !!! they love english blood !!!,staff is nice and are all well informed,may not wish you to stay at B&B

“Messy stay at Che Lagarto in Foz do Iguaçú”

Our stay here at CHL was messy. On arrival, the crowded, noisy desk area was attended by just a single person, the other assistant being tied up resolving endless bunk bed issues for one customer. When our chap got to us he attempted to deal with several people all at once, never the best strategy. The hotel lobby was ample and clean with sofas and chairs, although filled up with packs and suitcases near the doors. We were on the third floor slightly to the back, which was fine, away from the street noise. Only on-street parking is available, which is tricky as the hotel is in a metered zone. So you either pay while you're in the hotel or leave your vehicle a couple of streets over during the day if you're taking a tour. I shifted our car to the hotel door every night, and back in the morning to the free zone. Our room was fine, spacious but with a smallish double bed. Linen and towels were clean. Cracked pipe in the shower ceiling, leak in the hand basin sump. Wi-fi was good. Breakfast (USD4) was not included in our rate but was satisfactory, busy at 0730 as most people were heading away to the falls with tours. The scrambled eggs were hard, but there was ample fruit, yogurt, cereal, ham, cheese and coffee and milk. There is a nice deck area off the top floor with a jacuzzi and small pool from where you can see the wooded city. We cut our stay short after hiking the falls from the Brazilian and Argentine sides plus some other tours, which needs only around three days. However, neither booking.com nor the CHL hotel would refund the two days prepaid although, in fairness, that was clear when I booked. However, despite the debit on my CC three weeks previous to our stay, on the day we checked out I received SMS messages and e-mails that my CC was invalid and that our reservation had been cancelled. Clearly a glitch somewhere. In all, I felt that the daily rate we paid (USD41) was expensive for the services provided. I was unable to get the attendant to tell me the daily rate which seems to fluctuate depending on demand, occupation and other intangibles. There is a tour agency office, Pratik Tours, inside the lobby. They were excellent in making suggestions as to the best use of our time.
