Had planned to stay here for many years and delighted we finally got the chance - didn't disappoint ! what a place, lovely location, right on the lake, close to town and railway station. Service impeccable, and our room was lovely, right on the top floor looking over the lake. Interior is quite traditional, some might say old fashioned, but it just adds to the charm because it doesn't feel old. breakfast and dinner were both excellent, service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble, and I couldn't recomment highly enough. Definitely worth the stay

“Great hotel, wonderful staff, superb location”

My wife and I, together with two friends, spent 5 nights on a skiing break. The hotel location on the lake shore was fantastic, and our rooms had balconies which overlooked the lake with mountains in the distance. The hotel food was excellent, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. Transport from the hotel to the main ski lifts in Zell am See and Kaprun (from where you can access the glacier runs), and back, was provided. Also provided was a ski storage room accessed from the hotel garage, which included hot air heaters for boots, so everything was made easy for skiing. The hotel also had bicycles which we used free of charge to cycle around the lake on the well maintained cycle path. We could not fault any aspect of the hotel or service provided. To cap it all on the last day my wife left her handbag in a restaurant near the hotel, so I called the hotel from the airport and they retrieved the bag and posted it to our home. Without question I would recommend the Grand Hotel as a fantastic place to stay, and look forward to returning at some stage in the future.

We have visited The Grand many times for skiing holidays over the last 10 years. Its location is simply stunning, sitting right on the edge of the lake. I booked 3 family rooms for our party of 6 adults, 2 children and 2 infants. Our rooms (412, 414, 416.) were of a good size, well furnished, with good sized balconies and fabulous lake views. The rooms had built in bunk beds, lots of storage space and large, well equipped bathrooms with good quality fittings. The rooms were spotlessly clean as was the rest of the hotel. The hotel has an air of grandeur and elegance from a bygone era. The bar is beautiful with fabulous lake views. The terrace has unmatched views of the lake and is a lovely location for a cold beer or hot chocolate after a day’s skiing. There’s also a nice indoor pool and two spas. The Grand Spa, situated on the roof of the annexe building is fabulous. The hotel dining rooms are also very good, again with beautiful lake views. The daily menus offer a very good choice of food, with healthy options for those watching their weight! The hotel also runs two VW transporters to the nearby City Express and Trass Express gondolas. All in all, The Grand is one of my favourite hotels. Its location is unbeatable. The staff are attentive, efficient and friendly. I consider it a great place for a great skiing holiday. A beer in the bar, restaurant or terrace costs €7.50c, (£6.50.) which is good value for money considering the ambiance of the hotel. Although it’s not a 5* hotel, it offers great value for money and an unbeatable location. I’d recommend it to anyone.

This was our third visit to the Grand Hotel - and we are already talking about making a fourth. This year we brought friends who we thought would love the hotel as much as we do, and they did! The location is fantastic and the view of the lake from our very spacious bedroom was just wonderful. The breakfast buffet each morning set us up well for that day’s skiing, but we never had time to indulge in the afternoon tea. Evening meals were very good, and I particularly appreciated the variety of fish dishes served during our 4-night stay. I find the decor charming - it’s traditional Mitteleuropa - and the hotel was setting up for Easter as we were leaving, with bunny decorations dotted around. Children would find that delightful.
