Well first of all the site is huge, so many swimming pools, two bars on site, another down at the beach and plenty of outside seating and sunbeds. The staff seemed to work really hard with the same people on all the time, one person in particular being the girl who is behind the bar in The Pastry Bar who must be working from early morning to very late at night every single day. They are all very polite, great at their jobs and always with a smile on their faces. They are the backbone of the hotel. Bad points? Well thankfully only one..... with just a few little things that are room for improvement - 1. No soap in the public toilet in Building 4 for three days. I did report it to the reception. 2. Our toilet flush stopped working three times during our stay. Each time reported and dealt with, we had two toilets in our apartment so wasn't a huge issue and they were fairly quick at the repairs. 3. The only issue that did get my back up was my taxi to take me to the airport pulled up at the Reception area and was immediately yelled at to leave by somebody who worked there (although I had not seen her before). She treated the driver with immense disrespect, ordered him off the site, stopped him from talking to me to confirm my name and then I had to follow him off-site with all my bags in order to get in and go to the airport. I was fine carrying the bags with my family......but another guy was going to the same airport for the same time using the same taxi firm and he had one leg...... I would love to know if he too had to make that short journey with his luggage and if they watched him struggle! The food and drink was of a good standard, the "towel cards" a good idea and the ability to use the Spa facilities in the nearby hotel was very welcomed. Each morning I woke up early and saw from my balcony the staff hard at work making the area clean and tidy ready for that day. I have to say that the whole area was always looking spotless. One little thing that was appreciated was on our arrival we were given meals in a paper bag as we had arrived too late for dinner but they did not want to see us go hungry until the following day. This was that extra personal touch that made the start of our holiday make us feel like we had made the right choice in hotels. Food......well at breakfast the pancakes are very much sought-after and you can see why! Spoilt for choice at every mealtime, the cakes in the evening are incredible. As a lover of cats it was nice to see a family of kittens and their mother hanging around, as well as a few other randoms, and which were looked after by the staff by being fed bits left over. Obviously a hotel full of animal-lovers, it was lovely to see how friendly they were and how that was reciprocated by the guests. So a huge thank you to Sunrise and all the staff. I would highly recommend a stay here.
