Stunning little hotel! Cannot fault the location right in the middle of nessebar and sunny beach easily walkable did it most times. Hotel staff are great and made such a lovely effort for my birthday with a cake wine and certificate was a lovely touch! Food was nice bit cold sometimes but plenty of choice always something even for the fussy eaters like myself. Alcoholic drinks from 11am-11pm plenty of options and they're happy to experiment cocktail ideas The pool is not very big and people try to reserve sun longers and leave for the day, staff are very quick to stop that type of behaviour Beds are comfy free air-conditioning and easy to navigate around First time experiencing Bulgaria and think this was a great hotel to visit for our first time! Definitely top end of 3 star in my opinion would return again

The Aktinia hotel. Sunny Beach, Bulgaria. Sunday 21st June to Friday 26th. Booked with Jet2 last minute and made sure I read the reviews before booking. It was myself and 16yr old son. A Twin room with a balcony and two single beds. The hotel: Receptionist Marina upon check in was lovely, we arrived too late for a drink but having also missed the dinner service we were provided with a meal package of two sandwiches, bottled water and an apple. The water was a godsend as it was still quite hot upon arrival. Room: Although basic was clean with very effective air-conditioning, a wall mounted TV(channel 6 which is AMC is an English language channel along with a wildlife channel), wardrobe and bedside tables, the balcony was suitable for the two of us. We moved the two beds apart as they were together like a double and put one of the bedside tables between them. Bathroom is a wet room and the shower was pretty good in all fairness easy to control the temperature. Hotel is in a relatively quiet area so nights weren't spoilt by today loud tourists, the nightlife of sunny beach being around 2miles away. The hotel is so clean, cleaning staff are constantly cleaning, toilets are very clean. Pool: The pool is quite small with a limited number of sunbeds and the water is absolutely freezing...lol I prefer going to the beach for the breeze but lots of guests used the pool area daily. Bars. There are two one by the pool and the other in reception area both the female bar tenders by reception Diane and Meli (not sure if that is the correct name) are lovely, always smiling and polite. Empty glasses and used ashtrays are moved and changed regularly. All inclusive drinks include soft drink, juices, water, beer, red/white/rose wine and some spirits along with cocktails (list of which is on the bar). Beach: it's around 500m to the beach (just a short walk behind the hotel). Beware of the sunbeds too the left as you get to the beach as they are owned by a bar and charge 40 euros for 2 beds a parasol and towels. Sun beds to the right (blue and white) are 5 euros each item (beds parasol and table) free after 530/6pm. Further along the beach is an area for lying on towels . Along with a section of beach where you can sun bathe in your birthday suit if that floats your boat. The sea isn't cold and shallow for around 70m before getting deeper. Food: Breakfast consisted of a selection of foods including Porridge (nice) , fruits, pancakes, yoghurts, breads, fried and scrambled eggs, bacon (ham like but perfectly fine), sausages (real meat sausages and hot dog style as well). Lunch and dinners service I was very impressed with, a selection of hot food (with some local dishes) along with pizzas, soups and a form of griddled meat, pork chops, kebabs, very nice paprika sausages and salad selections. Veal and veg in sauce was stunning and so tender. Pork stroganoff and rice was lovely. Some reviewers have commented on the temperature of the food which is a fair comment as unless you get there at the start of service or they top a dish up (absolutely steaming hot) the food is of an adequate temperature too eat. It's buffet service good so it's not cooked for individual order. Griddled meats are cooked in front of you so piping hot. I don't eat desserts but they had a selection of cakes and fruits, they looked nice but I didn't try any. The restaurant is open for snacks mid afternoon for 2hrs, these include pizzas, mozerella sticks, ice creams and more. We enjoyed our stay at the Aktinia hotel (it's a little gem) I will definitely return and recommend to others. The hotel was really clean. The room was more than adequate, bar and service very good, food I was impressed with (nice local dishes). It's far enough away from sunny beach main strip to be quiet of an evening. Local bus service to Nessebar or sunny beach is 1 euro per person and regular if you do travel by bus be aware that some bus stops are not actually for the bus but for free transport to the aqua parks. The normal bus will not stop at them. My only criticism has been mentioned by other reviewers and that is that there is only the one coffee machine in the restaurant area and at breakfast there can be a bit of a queue. However both bars also have coffee machines so getting a coffee was not a big issue for me. Overall: We had a lovely stay, the hotel is very nice, very clean, rooms are suitable, bar and service excellent, food was very nice indeed and there location is quiet with a short walk to the beach. The Aktinia Hotel had everything we needed for a delightful stay. Well done to all management and staff and thank you for making our stay so nice and making us feel welcomed. Paul and Thomas Barbour. We had a brilliant experience from start to finish! The entertainment team were fantastic, especially Yavor, who did an amazing job getting everyone involved and creating such a fun atmosphere. The younger member of the entertainment team was wonderful with our 3-year-old, making her feel included and ensuring she had a great time. The food was excellent, with plenty of choice every night and something for everyone. The drinks were always great too, thanks to our bartender, Taras, who was friendly, welcoming, and made every visit to the bar enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to come back in the future!

“Fantastic”

Best 3 star hotel I have been too. Good food. Rooms have a fridge. Perfect location for either sunny beach or neezibar.
