The breakfast was discussing...rubber eggs and run like faulty towers. Having said all this, we would return, room only, as the hotel staff were helpful.

Booked an 11 day holiday here through a reputable travel agent. Our accommodation was booked as Self Catering - please remember this as I write this review. We arrived at the accommodation and things looked very promising, until we stepped up to reception and had a very painful experience trying to book in. Lengthy process, with uninterested and clueless staff member. However eventually we got our key & headed to our apartment. On entering our apartment, things looked good. We'd booked a seaview room - we got a view of the beach & the main road. Not quite what we'd expected, but there was a bit of water to look at. The lounge area was nicely appointed and the bedroom was too, all nice and bright and airy. There were TVs in both rooms, although we never used them & the balcony was lovely for catching the late afternoon sun between coming back from the beach & getting ready to go out of an evening. The outside area is very nicely set out & what little of the communal areas we attractively set out too. There was a very small counter area set up as a coffee bar & a beer fridge was available. A small swimming pool that was always attended by a 'lifegaurd'. The restaurant is set to the opposite side of the hotel and is accessed by leaving reception and walking towards the seafront externally half way round the hotel, but has panoramic windows onto Sunny Beach & Sveti Vlas. Here ends my summary of the positives & now I'll summerise my observations & opinions. As previously said, we booked our accommodation as self catering. Our intentions of fruit and cereal for breakfast, sandwich or salad type meal late afternoon and then off to eat locally for our main evening meal. But......... Our self catering apartments self catering equipment consisted of :- a mini fridge. A kettle. Two cups & saucers. Not a bowl, plate, knife or fork - nothing you could class as SC! & When trying to communicate this to staff, that was hopeless. So we just ended up accepting we were room only in a 'suite' type of room. As mentioned, the outside area was rather attractive and attended by a member of staff while open. What we didn't realise, until we went out to try to enjoy it was, the sun doesn't touch it until late afternoon. Worse still as a swimmer, the sun doesn't really touch the pool at all. As pools in Bulgaria are generally unheated, that left it completely unusable as it was absolutely freezing. In fact, we never saw anyone use it at all. The coffee bar & beer fridge............ We were extremely disappointed to find there is actually no bar available in the hotel. We find it's part of your holiday experience to socialise with your fellow holiday makers. But we accepted there was the coffees bar and beer fridge & used it a couple of times on our return from the beach prior to going upstairs to get ready for our evening out. Until it was closed on our return, then again the next day & the next. So in the end, we stopped at a local bar or picked something up from a local shop. Having already reading reviews - we knew about the water situation with the bathrooms. So the switch was immediately put on as soon as we walked into the apartment. I thought we had it sorted. However!!! People had said you get enough hot water for 3/4 people to shower - no chance. If my other half had a 3/4 minute shower before myself, it then went cold before I managed to rinse the soap off. We ended up alternating who had the warm shower each day. Please be aware there is a step up to the bathroom and as it's all tiled in black, can catch you out. Also there another step to get onto the balcony which is bigger & hurts your toes more. The balcony size is also disappointing, along with the fact there's the Aircon unit sitting blowing boiling hot air on you as you're trying to enjoy some sun. Overall & to summerise. We had a good holiday (we always do, we adapt) The Paradiso was clean and looked after. The bed was actually comfy, better than we expected after some reviews. But, we won't be making a return visit for the reasons already mentioned. Oh on a last note - if you want a 'late checkout' on your departure day, don't hold you're breath. You can't confirm it until that morning - meaning you have to get up early & go to reception to find out if it's possible!!! So you're in limbo & clueless until then. If I could have scored 2.5 on here I would. But I wouldn't drop it to a 2. So to be more than fair I left a 3. New Nessebar we will be back to see our friends next - Very close by. Sadly it's not going to be The Paradiso.

This Aparthotel is situated ideally for exploring the area, which was great. We knew there was only a fridge & kettle so we took some plastic plates etc as we bought from the local supermarket what we needed for breakfast. If you have mobility issues then you will find the bed extremely low although comfortable, step into the bathroom & really awkward step out onto the balcony. We both love swimming so I cannot explain to you our disappointment in the pool ! I needed to swim for therapy but was extremely surprised that the pool was not just cold but freezing. It made a huge difference to our holiday as neither of us are keen on the beach. We did go into the sea a couple of times , but there were jellyfish & it was quite rough. On the positive side we found the locals really friendly, the restaurants were extremely reasonably priced
