Hotel lovely, very clean, staff great, nicest bed i have ever slept in - 4 of us staying in hotel and we all agreed about the beds! Beautiful hotel! Hotel is at the top of a cobbled street, you have to pass through a security gate to drive to the hotel itself - even though there isn't dedicated hotel parking you can park anywhere on the streets in the very local surrounding area - 1 minute walk. Rooms are cheapest at the bottom, most expensive at the top - 4 floors. Only real views are on top floor. Air con good. Luxury extras are little bits like shampoo, soap, travel toothbrush and paste, shower gel, sewing kit, shower cap, 2x plastic (one use) razor - all lovely, however no hair conditioner. Hair dryer very good with nozzle. Robes and slippers. Only fault with the hotel is the breakfast as it is fairly limited and you have to order how you want your eggs cooked the night before - I mean, how long does it take to cook a few eggs at a time as the breakfast room can only seat a dozen people? Breakfast is quite basic/Mediterranean: eggs + a cold platter of ham, cheese, tomato and cucumber to accompany. 2 x cereals, bizarrely no milk - they offer plain Greek style yoghurt. Also there is yoghurt and a fruit bowl. 1 cup of tea or coffee. There is a veggie option. This hotel is definitely not for anyone with any disability issues as it is not flat to get to, steps everywhere. Local side street cafe with incredible views 50metres from the entrance - we'll worth a coffee or drink or ice cream. Top tip - wear mozzie spray everywhere, especially the cafe!!!!!

“Convenient and comfortable”

In the heart of the Old Town only 5 minutes walk from most of the main attractions. Only 2 minutes walk from the amphitheatre. Modern hotel, with large comfortable beds and good bathroom. Our room had a small balcony which was useful as there is no lounge and just a small sitting area outside the entrance where you can relax outside of your room. Rooms are just about big enough. There is free car parking close by, and the hotel can arrange access through the barriers into the oldest part of town. Just a small basement restaurant for breakfast: the bruschetta combo is highly recommended. The young men on reception were outstanding and could not have been more helpful.

We had a pleasant stay, finding our room to be a bit tight, but overall comfortable. The A/C never cooled down the room, so we slept with the windows open. The location was OK for us, but it was a 15 to 20 minute walk down to the pedestrian street where most restaurants are located. Breakfast was included in our rate, and we found it to be unnecessarily complicated. There were 3 options, but none were full of what one really wants for breakfast. So though our table was full of plates, we never left feeling satisfied. Bottom line, it’s a nice hotel that needs to improve its breakfast.

Pros: Super quiet location in the Old Town within easy walking distance of main sites and restaurants Modern, clean comfortable rooms with huge beds, good shower. Very efficient aircon. Attentive and helpful staff Cons: Awful coffee and poor breakfast with limited choices. Best to book without and go elsewhere. Tip: the ‘citizens club’ restaurant (turn right, 200m round the corner) is excellent - limited menu but very good traditional Bulgarian food at good prices. We tried several places and this was by far the best.
