What a great little hotel, there is a small but very nice swimming pool with sun terrace, with high quality loungers and chairs, the hotel itself is very clean and modern, there is a bar where you can buy beer and soft drinks. A short walk down the hill brings you onto Varna beach cost road, there are bars and places were you can fine all sorts of food, well worth a visit.

“A very pleasant hotel and good for those on a budget.”

I was treated very well but was surprised at no lift in a multi storey building. Excellent breakfast and pool facilities. intermittent internet was annoying but the staff were very polite and helpful . I would definitely consider using them again if they had a lift. Very clean and tidy.

The rooms are very clean, spacious and functional. Soap, shower gel and body lotion is provided. Air-condition works fine. Service minded and friendly staff. Small pool area with sunbeds and swing hammock. Great location if you prefer calmer areas. If you are sensitive to sounds when sleeping I recommend earplugs, the birds in the area are a bit noisy. Approx 10 min walk downhill to small beach area (part of it is not so walk friendly). I recommend this hotel. If you stay here I suggest dinner at restaurant Parmy located a couple of meters from the hotel.

Me, my husband and 8 year old daughter spent 6 nights here at the start of June. We wanted some time at the seaside but didn’t fancy Sunny Beach or Golden Sands so decided to stay in Varna. I chose this hotel because it was reasonable price and had a pool and wasn’t too far from town. The hotel is fairly small and I think probably family run. We had a maisonette on the 3rd floor which was lovely with a view of the pool and sea. The bedroom was upstairs and was cool and comfortable although lacking anywhere to put clothes, wasn’t a problem to me because I never normally bother to unpack my case. There was a kitchenette with microwave sink and kettle, no hob. There were no plates or cutlery or bowls but the lady on reception gave me some from the hotel kitchen when I went down and asked for some. Seems no point in having a sink and microwave if there is no crockery! The bathroom was clean and recently renovated, the air conditioning worked and the TV had English channels. A couple of times the shower ran a bit short of water, maybe a lot of people were taking showers. The WiFi worked some of the time. The room would benefit from some darker curtains to keep the light out. The swimming pool and garden area is pleasant and well maintained, the hotel is surrounded by other buildings which is not clear in promotional pictures of the hotel but no problem. The sea is a few hundred yards away down the hill but there is no beach there, go into Varna for the beach. The hotel is about 2 miles or so from the centre and is a pleasant walk through the sea garden, takes about 45 minutes. Buses run regularly along the main road and a single ticket is 1lev (50p). Taxis are plentiful and cheap. Varna is a lovely city with lots of nice places to eat, the beach is clean and monitored by lifeguards (the sea is quite rough with big waves and goes deep quite quickly) and the sea garden park is great for kids of primary school age. We had a very relaxing few days here, and would recommend hotel Alekta to families and couples. It’s not ideal for anyone with limited mobility because there is no lift and steps down to reception, also the pavement on the street outside is in a very poor state of repair. A good value hotel which we would stay at again.
