The hotel was probably a wonderful place in its prime. It is large, with beautiful outdoor areas and many charming corners to explore. It may well have deserved its four-star rating years ago, but today it is in serious need of a complete renovation. We were given a family room on the lower ground floor. The room was spacious and had laminate flooring. The beds were decent, but the sheets were too small and kept slipping off the mattresses with the slightest movement. The bathroom, however, was small, old, and worn out. Very few members of the staff spoke English. A notable exception was Sasha, who was incredibly friendly, helpful, and highly service-minded. She truly deserves recognition for her excellent attitude and professionalism. Unfortunately, we also had several negative experiences with some of the staff. One waitress, whom I believe was named Julia, was unfriendly throughout our stay. She was responsible for serving ice cream in the evenings. One evening, when I asked for ice cream for my child, she responded loudly in Russian or Bulgarian in an irritated tone. I could not understand what she was saying, but her attitude and body language were very unpleasant. We also noticed on several occasions that our children were given much smaller portions than Russian-speaking children. Eventually, our children no longer felt comfortable asking for ice cream themselves and instead asked us adults to do it for them. One evening we happened to be in the same elevator. Even though there was plenty of space, she deliberately turned her back on us. She and a young dark-haired man who often worked at the bar were the least welcoming members of the hotel staff we encountered during our stay. On the other hand, the kitchen staff were excellent. The chefs, who were originally from Turkey, were friendly, cheerful, and did an outstanding job. The hotel’s location is fantastic. The spa with its natural mineral spring water and the close proximity to the sea were the highlights of our stay. Unfortunately, we left with the feeling that we were treated differently from many of the Russian-speaking guests. This was the first time we had ever experienced something like this at a hotel, and it significantly affected our overall experience. Because of this, we would not choose to stay at this hotel again.
